Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Animal Refugee Response is looking loving and permanent homes for the animals in our care. We are looking for adopters who understand that adopting a dog or cat is much like adopting a child. It is a commitment. It is forever.

Potential adopters are asked to come in person to meet the animal(s) they are interested in, to insure a good fit.

If you rent your home we will need to see written proof that your landlord allows animals.

All potential adopters are required to complete a questionnaire, and if approved, a contract.

The adoption fee for any dog (of any size and any age) is $250. The adoption fee for any cat $100. These fees include the animal, spay/neuter, vaccinations for the year, defleaing and initial deworming.

We will provide the adopter with the health records we have for the animal.

We do not provide refunds. We highly discourage "trying out" animals. They are not like a pair of shoes to be bought and returned. They have hearts and feelings. We want adopters to be SURE they want to adopt the animal they choose, and are committed to make it work.

Go meet their pets

Please call 510/230-3758 or email blythe@animalrefugee.org if you would like to meet one of our wonderful animals.
