My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Gibby! Please read my bio below!

Weight and Age: I am a whopping 45 pounds and am approximately 1.5 years old.

Background: I had been in a rough neighborhood where I was found in a vacated home in the backyard in a kennel. I had been able to get out of the yard and wandered the neighborhood. People felt sorry for me so they started feeding me but no one could keep me. They contacted the rescue and a foster committed to fostering me. I am now in a loving foster home with another dog and am loving it!

Medical Status: I will be neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on shots, and current on heartworm and flea preventatives. I have no other health issues and am heart worm negative. YAY!

Activity level: I am pretty active since I'm still young and love to play with my friends (human and dog alike)!

Potty Training/Crate Training: I am crate trained and learning potty training from my foster mom!

Other Animals: Loves any and all!

Special Needs: None

Dog Park friendly: I would love it!

Good off leash: Not a bolter but too young to know

Location: Houston, TX but I'm available for out of state adoptions!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $650 to fly your dog to the nearest airport that (1) has a direct flight from Houston, TX and (2) can accommodate the size travel crate your dog would fly in. If there is no direct flight, then we do have to schedule flights with layovers. We only use United Airlines because of their PetSafe Program. They are the only airline equipped to fly dogs in year-round weather conditions. The dogs get the same air and heat as in the passenger cabin.

More about this rescue

We rescue dogs from the streets of Houston, TX, vet them, recuperate them from health problems, bring them to full health and then work very hard to get them adopted out-of-state. Houston, TX has over ONE MILLION stray dogs. Thousands of perfectly healthy dogs, along with sick and dying dogs that are picked up, are euthanized every single day. Houston, TX is saturated with dogs. Everyone who WANTS a dog HAS a dog. We can only save lives by getting dogs out of our region. We have found the very best adopters in the Northeast and Northwest U. S. and Canada.
