My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB 10/2018     Weight: 50 lbs
Cooper appears to have somewhat high energy. He is super sweet and very playful, likes tennis balls and squeaky toys. He greets all our volunteers happily. He is very curious about everything and easily distracted.
He walks well on a leash with harness. Cooper will definitely need to have lots of walks and outdoor time. He needs lots of stimulation.
Cooper likes other dogs, but he can be a little too playful for some dogs. He is good with kids, but needs to be watched around little ones as his playfulness could knock them over. He doesn't like cats.

He is utd on shots, neutered, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He came to the shelter 1/2020.

Our adoption fee is $150 which covers a portion of the dog's vetting costs. The adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by an interview.

Contact us to set an appointment to see a dog, or plan to visit us on Sundays from noon to 3 pm at the Pet Food Center on First Avenue in Evansville, Indiana. Contact us if there is a particular dog you want to meet this weekend so we can be sure to bring that one with us.

You can get in touch with us by email at pcpoundpuppies1@gmail.com or by phone at 812-483-4341 for more information.

We respond to inquiries and adoption applications at our earliest opportunity, but please be patient with us as we work full-time jobs and perform this service as volunteers. We do our best to return messages and schedule adoption interviews within a couple of days of receiving your application.

The fastest way to get the ball rolling is to complete an adoption application for the dog that caught your eye.  Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter dog!

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of an adoption application followed by an interview. Upon arriving at the shelter, each dog receives a Bordetella shot, DHPPC vaccination and worming. At the veterinarian's office, our dogs receive a rabies vaccination, a spay or neuter surgery, and are tested for heartworm. If a dog tests positive, we treat the dog and then retest to confirm that the treatment was successful. Additionally, our dogs are microchipped before going home with their new family. Adoption fees are $85 and help to cover the cost of vetting.
