Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chewy is a Terrier mix dog available for adoption. He is approximately 1 1/2 to 2 years of age and weighs 8 pounds. Chewy is in the process of getting neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He's small--an indoor home with older children would be most suitable. For more information on Chewy please call Cheryl at 979.732.5591 or email k9luvrs@hughes.net. His adoption fee is $75.00. You can also meet Chewy most Saturdays at a Petco adoption event in Richmond, Texas. Please call for the location.

Additional adoption info
After screening and filling out the adoption form, the adoption fee for puppies and kittens is $35. When the puppy or kitten is 5-6 months old, you pay an additional $35 and we pay the rest of the spay or neuter. We do a followup phone call to make sure this happens. We make sure the pup or kitten is current on vaccinations, worming, etc. Most animals over 6 months of age will have already been spayed or neutered, be on heartworm prevention, be current on vaccinations, etc. The adoption fee for these animals is $70.

PUPS has a cat condo at the Rosenberg Petco. We do dog adoptions there most Saturdays also. PUPS does adoptions at the Petco on Mason Rd in Katy almost every Saturday. We have booths to promote spaying and neutering and have a few animals for adoption at many local events (fairs, festivals) in eight counties west of Houston. See our website for more information.

More about this rescue
PUPS was formed in 2003 because there were no shelters in Austin, Colorado, Waller or any other counties west of Houston. There are a couple of shelters now, but they are very small. Our goal is do reduce the number of unwanted pets in our area by encouraging spay and neuter and helping to pay the bill for people who cannot afford to spay or neuter their animals on their own. We get calls daily to help place animals and have recently stepped up our ability to do this with the use of foster homes.
