My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mirah is currently available for adoption at our Redmond store. She is a special needs cat and requires very experienced kitty caretakers. She's a very social girl, who is sweet with a little spunk to her. She is sassy, opinionated, and very talkative. Mirah came to us with diabetes, and is currently on daily insulin. She is sweet and affectionate, as long as it is on her terms.

Each store has cats for adoption, but Redmond's adoption kennels are permanent, meaning that we never need to foster out those cats, and they get to peaceably live at our Café until a family takes them home. When a cat has been on site at Kirkland for over 2 months, they get put on a transfer list for Redmond as soon as a spot opens up. Cats over 12 years are preferentially hosted at Redmond due to the permanent situation of the kennels there.

All of our adoptable cats, regardless of home shelter, will have the following before they are released for adoption: Spay/neuter, microchip, current vaccines, FeLV test (depending on the level of risk, some cats may also receive the FIV test), flea-free, worm treatment, ringworm treatment, and recent vet visit.

Go meet their pets

At our cafe our visitors can find a relaxing environment for both humans and cats alike. When creating our cafe our mission was to ensure that the cats in our care would never know that they are even up for adoption; we wanted them to have a safe space before finding their permanent forever home. At our cafe you can find a plush room filled with cozy furniture, beautiful windows to the outside world, human activities such as board games and books, free WiFi, and of course some pretty amazing adoptable kitties. Our cafe is built within our Redmond store location, located at 8103 161st Avenue Northeast, Redmond, WA 98052.

More about this rescue

In 2019, we were able to put 133 cats into their permanent homes; 19 of those cats had special needs, 24 were senior kitties and 53 were rescued from high kill shelters. All of these unique cats had one unfortunate thing in common…in a different shelter environment they would have been deemed un-adoptable and would never have stood a chance. The adoption kitties that we have at our cat cafe all come from different backgrounds but one thing they all share is their search for their permanent forever homes. Our adoption cats come from all walks of life; some have been surrendered due to old age or medical conditions, some are rescued from high kill shelters where they are up for euthanasia and others come from our Feral Care Sanctuary at Hidden Creek Ranch.
