Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Hiii y'all! My name is Boomer and I am a sweet sweet boy looking for a home to call my own.
My ideal home will have dog experience and lots of energy and patience to provide me with the daily exercise I need as well as help me work on my manners. A nice fenced backyard would be pretty sweet too! My friends at the shelter believe that attending Polite Pooches would be amazing for us together, we can learn and grow our bond stronger. Kiddos are pretty awesome, but I am looking for a home where they can't be so easily knocked over, because I get pretty excited and a very big boy. Therefore, I am looking for a home with no human siblings under 14 years old. Doggie siblings would potentially be cool, but it's important they have a similar energy level and size, and are as confident and playful as I am. Food is life and so I'm not the best at sharing it, adopters must be willing manage and help me work on resource guarding if there's another pupper around. As for kitties, they must be dog savvy for it to work out between us.

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
