Additional adoption info

Adoption Fee:
Puppies (under 1yr) are $375
Adults are $275 (purebred dogs may have a different adoption fee)
If paying by Credit Card for the adoption there is an additional processing fee (apx 3%), cash is also accepted.
There is also a $12.99 fee to register the microchip to the adopter.

All dogs have been spayed/neutered, vetted and are up to date on shots.

ALL ADOPTION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

All of our dogs are available on a first come basis at our weekly adoption events. Please visit our Facebook Page to find out where the event is each week. Some of our dogs (mostly the adult dogs if the foster is open to it) may be available for a meet and greet outside of an adoption event, but must then be adopted at an event.

If you are interested in a specific dog please complete an adoption form from our website and email it by Friday noon before the event to adopt@douglascountycanine.org so we can check your references before the event. Bring your copy of the application AND your approval email to the adoption day; we need to put these in the dogs file when you adopt. SHOW UP EARLY (30min) to the event for your best chance to adopt the dog you want as dogs are a available on a first come basis, no reservations. Adoption approvals are valid for 30 days.

YOU MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED PRIOR TO SPEAKING WITH DCCR ABOUT A PARTICULAR DOG THAT APPEARS ON THE WEBSITE. NOT ALL DOGS ARE AT EVERY ADOPTION EVENT.

* We can NOT adopt to people who reside outside of Colorado

More about this rescue

Douglas County Canine Rescue, or DCCR as we like to call our organization is about one thing, helping dogs in need! Douglas County Canine Rescue, is a 501 c3 non- profit, no kill, animal rescue. Our mission is to rescue abandoned animals, spay, neuter and provide medical care, and then put them with foster homes until we get them adopted into the loving homes that they need and deserve! Douglas County Canine Rescue does not have a facility. We rely solely on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers who open their hearts to help us take care of the animal orphans that desperately need help.
