SCHS Friends may remember Zuri who was with us earlier this year. She was adopted, but recently returned. Zuri is a busy girl and needs a more active lifestyle than her people could give her, so they sadly returned her.
Zuri is a gorgeous female Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, aged 2 years. She has the very distinctive ridge running all the way down her back so this breed is definitely in her mix. This darling girl is the perfect medium size, weighing 44 pounds. She walks well on a leash and keeps a clean kennel, which is a good indicator of prior house-training. Zuri also loves to sit in your lap and cuddle.
We have learned that one of her most favorite things to do is ride in a car or truck! This girl does love her car rides. Zuri listens well and stays close by when on a hike or outing.
We know this girl has great potential; and with the right person, she will be have a bright and wonderful future.
Zuri tested negative for heart worms and is now on a HW preventative. She is also on preventatives for fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites. Zuri is also spayed, fully vaccinated and ready to meet a family of her own!For more information, please email Stephens County Humane Society at schs@att.net, or call us at 580-252-7387 (PETS). Our animals are spayed/neutered, UTD on shots, and treated for ticks, & fleas. Cats are tested for FeLV & FIV; and dogs are tested for heart worms.
Normal adoption fee for cats is $75.00; and $100.00 for dogs, but we frequently have specials running and/or animals who have had their adoption fee sponsored, so ... call us! Let us help you find your next fur-baby!

We use a simple adoption application/agreement. To complete the application process, we ask for reference letters from the adopting family's veterinarian and two character references. Adoption fees are $100.00 for dogs and $75.00 for cats. Fees include spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination and age appropriate vaccinations.
We have 3 main requirements for our dog adoptions.
1- We require a fenced yard
2- If you rent, we require a letter from the landlord stating
pets are permitted in their residence.
3- If you have dogs currently, arrangements must be
made for a meet and greet to ensure all parties are
agreeable.

We are a Humane Society and Rescue organization serving Stephens County, Oklahoma and it's communities. We work closely with local municipal animal control departments in providing shelter to abandoned, abused, and surrendered animals, and finding homes for as many adoptable pets as we possibly can. We stress spaying and neutering as the one key way to prevent unwanted puppies and kittens.
