Loki was found with his siblings at a common dumping ground in Puerto Rico. They were very scared, but eventually they were able to be lured with food, and now they are in a loving foster home. Sadly, a day after being rescued, Loki's health rapidly deteriorated and he was diagnosed with a contagious, life-threatening bacterial infection. He had to be hospitalized, quarantined, and given large doses of antibiotics. However, he is doing GREAT. His bloodwork is looking very good and he has a big appetite. His foster mom says he is such a good boy. He doesn't bark often and he loves belly rubs!

Our Animals are “Free to Great Homes” & we can pay for their travel too, But before we adopt out an animal you will need to answer and email the questions at the very bottom of our page DefensaRincon.org/Adopt. We are always happy to send you more photos, videos and connect you with each animal’s rescuer so you can decide on giving one of these animals their forever home! We do leave the final decision to each rescuer – but we are here to help always.

Defensa's mission is help animals (dogs, cats & horses) in and around the Western side of the of Puerto Rico. To spay/neuter, vaccinate, address the health of and find homes for the street animals. Secondly to work with Veterinarians throughout Puerto Rico to offer discounted spay/neuter services for owned animals
