Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hey, my name is Salvo! Everyone says I look like a big stuffed animal, and I think I just might be! I have the fluffiest coat and the sweetest face you might have ever seen.
Cuddling close to my humans is pretty great! Kisses and hugs are just fine with me! Overall, I am a pretty calm guy. I do enjoy my time outside on walks though. My foster mom says I am good walker and don't pull too much! In a fenced in yard, I will play fetch with you for a short period of time. I don't mind other dogs as long as they give me space and aren't too intense.
I like to sleep in my crate at night and when I am home alone. Great news, I am potty trained and know to do my business outside. While I would really love a fenced in yard, I would be fine without one since I know to do my business while on a leash.
I like to think that I am the best companion! I bet when you meet me you will feel the same way.
--------------------------------------------
All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedure completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time.
Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.
Adoption Fee - $450

More about this rescue
Warrior Dog Rescue is a no kill, non-profit, volunteer dog rescue committed to serving the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and suburbs in the state of Minnesota. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs that are left abandoned in shelters, are being surrendered by their owners, or animals that are being abused and neglected. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a thorough adoption process which includes a detailed application, education about responsible ownership, and a completed home visit and reference check. Our dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay and neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 12 months at the time of adoption. Our fosters and volunteer trainers will be encouraged to work on behaviors and dispositions, and building the confidence of the dogs for a smooth transition. Safety education will always be enforced and transferred, being taught to the adoptive home. The fosters are the bones of this rescue and will be very valued.
We see the need for responsible dog rescues across the country and realize the need is not just in our own state. Every single dog deserves to live in a good home… every single one of them. We will do what we can with the resources we have to provide every dog that crosses our path with a chance at the “good dog life”.
We will use Warrior Dog Rescue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, neglect and the horrible world of commercial breeding. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country.
