When you go to the shelter, take a tour of the kennels, ask staff or volunteers for assistance, and make note of the dog’s name and kennel number. The shelters do their best to have a posting of photos of dogs in foster and dogs temporarily away from the shelter.

You may visit our shelter at 5473 Overpass Road, Goleta, CA Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. or Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our volunteer adoption counselors or staff will be happy to show you any available dog for your consideration.

We also welcome out of town or out of state adoptions. Feel free to call 805-681-4369 or fax your completed adoption interest questionnaire to 805-681-5283 and a volunteer adoption counselor will get back to you within 48 hours.

A dog adoption from the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter is $110 and includes a spay/neuter certificate, current vaccinations, rabies, health records, transition food, loaner items, goody bag, and a coupon for 4 free dog behavior training sessions which is funded by donations to K-9 PALS for the promotion of life-long homes for dogs. An additional small fee is charged if micro-chipping is requested. Dog license fees for your city or county are additional.
