Meet Helen!
At only about 5 mos old, she has had a tough run at life so far, and is extremely wary of humans as a result. Helen is very skittish and would do best in a quiet home with older, dog savvy children. Another dog in the home as well as a fenced in yard is a must for Helen as she continues to learn how to be confident.
Her personality really starts to come out when she is running and wrestling with other dogs, but she spends most of her time in hiding when people are around. Helen loves to play on her own with toys and bones, and you will often find a hoard in her kennel. As a puppy, she does have chewing tendencies, but does ok with redirection.
Helen does great in a kennel overnight and during the day. Her kennel is her safe spot and is highly recommended for her. She has been spending most of her time in foster care adjusting to life with nice humans, so she has not had any obedience training. She would do well with some puppy training classes to help her learn obedience and build confidence in her person/people.
Helen will walk behind you on a leash but freezes when things startle her. She will need some leash training as well. She has done pretty well with potty training, but has no cues when she needs to go out, and has had a few accidents.
Her favorite food is hotdogs, and she can be bribed for a quick hand sniff and possible finger lick with those in hand. She has also been spotted sitting across the couch from her foster family as she gets more comfortable. Helen is looking for a patient and quiet family who will give her the space, love, and training required to set her up the right way for the rest of her life.
Adoption fee is $300 plus tax.

More about this rescue
Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.
Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
