Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Status: WAIT LIST CLOSED. NOT ACCEPTING INTEREST AT THIS TIME
10/13/2022 Introducing Hazel Honeybadger!
Bio: - 1 year, 8 months old, spayed female - Mantle pattern Black Coat w/ White Markings - Located in Fargo, ND
Basic Info: - Typical Velcro Dane who loves giving and receiving attention and affection - Super smart - Previous experience with kids, but has not encountered any since coming into foster care. She would prefer a calmer, older child if there are children in the forever home
Likes: - Cuddles and pets, face pets especially! - Treats - Car rides - Play wrestling with the resident dog-loves this!
Dislikes: - Not a dislike, but she has a habit of chasing small creatures outside - Requires slow/proper introductions to new people and other dogs - Seems to have some difficulty reading other dogs signals and would not do well with a dominant dog - Very active/young little kids are a bit too much energy for her
Medical Notes: NONE, she is a healthy girl!
Hard Requirements For Forever Home: - Physically fenced in yard, as she has a habit of chasing little creatures outside - No cats, for their safety - If there are children, we ask that they not be young children or toddler age. Older kids that understand her need for a calm household will be considered on an individual basis - While not a requirement, she would love a playful, non-dominant dog companion in her forever home ready to play with her
If you are interested in this affectionate and playful young girl, this is what you need to do: - If you have already completed the application process and are an approved adopter with UMGDR, please contact Callie at callie@thegreatdanerescue.com to learn more about Hazel Honeybadger. - If you are not yet an approved adopter through UMGDR, you must complete our application process before you could be considered to adopt a dog through our rescue. Please visit https://www.thegreatdanerescue.com/adoption-application to complete an application and submit your $25 application fee to begin the process.

More about this rescue
Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue was started in 2008 by a group of Dane lovers who desire to help Danes in need. The rescue is made up of all volunteers who lovingly give of their time and money to help these wonderful dogs. Volunteers include people from every walk of life, all with one thing in common, love of Great Danes.
Each animal coming to the rescue is temperament tested, given a physical, vaccinated, wormed, checked for heartworm and tick borne illnesses and treated as needed. All dogs are sterilized before being re homed. The dog is then placed in a foster home to wait for someone to love it forever.
