My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi,

Fynn here. I just thought I would introduce myself. I'm a big boy who just wants to love you to pieces. Honestly, I kind of love everything. I'm great with other dogs and love to play. Unless they try to steal my food. I'm not cool with that. I'm a big boy and need my groceries and when I came in, I didn't know where my next meal was coming from. We are working on that. Otherwise I'm a very good, social boy with them. Cats? I honestly have no interest in cats. They can come and go. I'm not bothered. Kids? I love them. However with my size I may be a bit much for the smaller ones. I may knock them over just wanting to smother them with kisses. I honestly am most interested in being with my people. They are my favorite. Oh, and toys, I love toys.

I'm a young guy only about 2 years old and have likely never been on a leash. We are working on my leash manners and am happy to go with you but don't love being tied. I would really be better in a home with a fenced yard.

If you think we could be a forever match please fill in an application. I would love to meet you. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfWfiK2etDy2DEBDzPvLvRyvgAnN5ovIODMGeB3RUgELygk5g/viewform?c=0&w=

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All adoptions begin with an adoption application, available here or on our website (or from one of our wonderful volunteers in person). The application is reviewed by the adoptable animal's foster home as well as by the appropriate coordinator (canine/feline/small animal) to assess how the animal will fit in your home. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 48 hours, but being 100% run by volunteers sometimes we need additional time--if you haven't heard back after 48 hours, feel free to contact us to check in on your application.

All dogs and puppies have an adoption fee of $300, kittens under 6 months of age have an adoption fee of $250, and cats over 6 months of age have an adoption fee of $200, unless otherwise noted. Adoption fees help offset the cost to our organization of providing full medical care (including spay or neuter surgery) to each animal we adopt to a furever home.

More about this rescue

The Barrhead Animal Rescue Society (B.A.R.S.) was established in January 2010, and is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all animals in the Town of Barrhead, the County of Barrhead and surrounding areas.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned, lost, and mistreated pets until they can be placed into loving homes. Through proactive intervention, public education, fundraising events, and community outreach, the Barrhead Animal Rescue Society seeks to promote respect for all life by breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect, and pet overpopulation in our communities.

The Barrhead Animal Rescue Society is supported through private contributions.
