My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Geneive
Age: 1 year
Size: medium
Dogs: yes
Cats: adult cats yes
Kids: good with babies and kids ??

Hello everyone, I'm Geneive ??
I am a very energetic girl who loves to play and is full of fun! I'm still young and I'm still learning new things. I may be a bit shy at first and take some time to warm up to new things . My foster parents work with me and help me become more comfortable and confident. I am fine with other dogs but am totally fine with being by myself as well . I may be a little picky on my treats, but have found some I love . I'm really good in my kennel and I don't bark or whine unless I need to use the bathroom. I am really good at being inside as well and just like to hang out most days and relax . Once I'm outside the energetic side of me comes out and wants to run around and explore. I am very good on my leash and harness and love going for walks or running. I also like to using my husky working talent and pull my foster parent's baby around on her sled. They guide me on how fast I can go and where to go . I enjoy spending time with them. I am also really good in the car . I am learning how to shake a paw and some tricks . Im just the best girl and with time and patience I will continue to impress .

If you would like to meet me and see if I am a good fit with your family. Please fill out the adoption application.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All adoptions begin with an adoption application, available here or on our website (or from one of our wonderful volunteers in person). The application is reviewed by the adoptable animal's foster home as well as by the appropriate coordinator (canine/feline/small animal) to assess how the animal will fit in your home. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 48 hours, but being 100% run by volunteers sometimes we need additional time--if you haven't heard back after 48 hours, feel free to contact us to check in on your application.

All dogs and puppies have an adoption fee of $300, kittens under 6 months of age have an adoption fee of $250, and cats over 6 months of age have an adoption fee of $200, unless otherwise noted. Adoption fees help offset the cost to our organization of providing full medical care (including spay or neuter surgery) to each animal we adopt to a furever home.

More about this rescue

The Barrhead Animal Rescue Society (B.A.R.S.) was established in January 2010, and is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all animals in the Town of Barrhead, the County of Barrhead and surrounding areas.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned, lost, and mistreated pets until they can be placed into loving homes. Through proactive intervention, public education, fundraising events, and community outreach, the Barrhead Animal Rescue Society seeks to promote respect for all life by breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect, and pet overpopulation in our communities.

The Barrhead Animal Rescue Society is supported through private contributions.
