My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Sit, Seba. Stay Siba." No, Seba isn't a dog, but he "gets it" and will follow your commands. He is a real sweetheart who likes it when you sing, "You Are My Sunshine" to him. You need not be auditioning on "The Voice" for him. Just learn the words and he's good. Seba is friendly, affectionate, playful, independent and has pep in his step! He enjoys pets, especially on the head, back and ears and even visitors and children can pet this boy. He does have some "No Pet Zones" such as his lower back tail and butt. Too personal. Seba doesn't mind being picked up for a spell either. He's accustomed to living indoors in a calm, adult household with his chihuahua buddy. As for play time, he plays gently and softly with his human's hands and feet and enjoys swatting at wand toys. Crackly toys are music to his ears but his favorite toys are little balls that you can get out of vending machines. He knows commands but he's not smart enough to operate the vending machines himself, so you'll need to help him. Seba (which is short for Sebastian, by the way) isn't a fan of dry food as it hasn't agreed with him in the past, so wet food is the way to go with this boy. Seba is charming and definitely a keeper. Now he's waiting for one more command, "Come home, Seba" and a few bars of "You Are My Sunshine." That's where you come in.

Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully.

If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways:

Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt.

**the below two methods are slower than visiting us**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.
