Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Amber is a little princess. She loves being with her people and if she can't find you, she'll sit down and yell until you respond to her. She LOVES to climb but hasn't quite mastered the getting down part yet so she occasionally gets stuck. Not to worry, she'll yell for help in her tiny little voice. She will do great as a companion cat as she enjoys following her person around during the day. She gets along great with other cats and while she's hesitant of dogs at first, she warms up quickly.
If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of three ways:
Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt.
**the below two methods are slower than visiting us**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.
Check out the video (above, with the pictures) for top tips on how to bring a kitten like this home with you and integrate them into your home!
All kitten adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccination (if over 12 weeks of age)
-current on distemper vaccines (will need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
