Story
I adopted Toby from a giant adoption event in Houston when I fell in love with his kind eyes. He is sweet and playful at times. I live in a small one bedroom apartment. When I adopted Toby, I didn't take into account my lack of space and that my work commitments would increase dramatically. I am not around enough to be a good home for Toby. He is a social dog that would love to be in a family home. He is very friendly towards other dogs and never aggressive. He is comfortable in a kennel but does fine when left alone outside the kennel.

Hello! I'm Buddy. I've been with Basset Buddies for a long time, so I wanted to give all my fans an update. I may be deaf, but that's great news because it means no more ear pain for me EVER!! I am still loving life here with my foster brother and sister. I play with them every day, all day long. I REALLY LOVE all my doggie toys. I have my favorites, and you won't ever see me without them nearby or in my mouth. I also REALLY love the small humans that come to stay with us sometimes on the weekends and, even better, they bring their doggies and I also love to play with them. We run and play all weekend when they are here. I am a pro with the doggie door so I can go out anytime I want, and sometimes I like to go out and lay out on the deck by the pool and just chill in the sun. I sleep all night long in my very own doggie bed right beside my foster mommy and sometimes she even lets me sleep with her! I love to hang out with my humans anytime on the couch, and I really think I make a great lap dog. The only thing I don't like is a cat, so I'll do best in a home without them. Gus is a laid back senior looking to spend his retirement with a loving furever family. He's a little reserved and takes a while to warm up to people but once he trusts you, he will flip over for a nice long belly rub. He'll need to be in a home with another dog who will help build his confidence. Gus is a very sweet hound who is unsure about indoor life but adjusting well and coming out of his shell more and more every day. Hi, my name is Harvey and I want to be your best friend, seriously- we need to cuddle. Don't be distracted by my unbelievable cute droopy face and stumpy legs, I'm also cute by personality. Foster mom says I'm a good, sweet boy 98% of the time and I agree, although I believe I am more of a 300% good boy. House & crate trained, comes and even runs to you on command, knows basic commands and loves to cuddle next to you, kiss you happily when you get home and you can return the favor by giving me belly rubs. Foster mom says the 2% deduction from perfectly good boy was because I get too excited and crazy when meeting new dog friends- which leaves for a bad first impression- I do calm down from it and then we are friends. And what do friends do? They let me eat their food!!! The humans claim it's wrong, pfff.... I went through heartworm treatment,and wasn't allowed to play with my friends, so I slept like a champ in the kennel, and then cuddled like a pro next to humans. Its better now that I can go on my beloved walks, ride the car and steal the fetch ball from my foster bro. In past few weeks have been living with two dog friends and we are buds, I'll be happy to be a brother to someone, or to maximize our cuddle and play time- have me all to yourself!
