Samson loves to cuddle and his content little sighs are the greatest thing in the world! He loves to play with his sister Delilah and chewing on a good bone. He has been abused in the past by men and would do well with a female owner. Signs of his abuse are "ruptured saliva glands" which cause his neck to swell but he is NOT in pain and has been cleared by his vet to have a healthy, normal life. (He just looks like he's wearing a Victorian ruffle all the time). He does well with calm dogs. He would do best in a home with no cats or children. He and Delilah are a bonded pair and extremely attatched but for their best interests may be adopted separately.

This is Aaron (HWTH#19232A). He is a Beagle mix, DOB: 10/18/18 (he may be a sibling to Ace). Aaron weighs 19 pounds and stands 15 inches at the shoulders. He also was surrendered to the animal shelter in Cal City and was rescued by a volunteer with Halfway to Home. Aaron is a sweet little guy who appears to not mind being held and probably will be more active when he is comfortable in his new Forever home. Lots of love, good-quality human companionship, structure, playtime, regular daily exercise and some training will help make Aaron's transition a smooth one. When Aaron feels secure in his new surroundings, he will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training, other obedience commands and the bonding process. This is Shilo (HWTH#17049A). He is a Beagle mix, DOB: 2/22/07. Shilo weighs approximately 40 pounds and stands 18 inches at the shoulders. This is an extremely loving (likes to give kisses) and high-energy boy who is going to need an active owner (possibly a runner) who can keep up with him. At the rescue, the volunteer uses a golf cart to exercise him. Shilo is very friendly, loves to be petted, loves to have his belly rubbed and wants to be as close as possible to you at all times. So along with needing daily exercise, Shilo also needs a very kind owner willing to give him the love and good-quality human companionship he deserves. When Shilo is settled in his new Forever home, he will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training and the bonding process (which with lots of love, will be quick). Once Shilo has bonded with his new owner, he will be an exceptional canine companion. Shilo is crate trained.
