Story
Meet Mack! This sweet old man was left in a shelter after his owner passed away, but luckily Starfish rescue got him out and he is now enjoying life in a loving foster home. He is gentle and sweet - probably around 15 years old and a Beagle mix. He is not very big (26 lbs) and only requires a soft bed to sleep in and a family to love him. Older kids are preferred. Can you give this sweet boy a home?  The adoption fee of $200 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Although we do the best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can make no guarantee. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please visit our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com or you may complete the online adoption application on our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/starfishanimalrescue/app/134425496630143/?ref=page_internal Once you complete and submit your dog adoption application we will set up an appointment to meet this pup! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Story
Rue is an adorable young beagle hound mix saved from dire conditions by Starfish.  She is around one year old and weighs 34 pounds, she is the perfect size lap dog!   Rue is special not just because of her previous difficult life but because she is as happy and joyful as can be.  Rue LOVES playing with any and all toys!  She enjoys running with her toys and playing with her foster doggy siblings.  Rue is even friends with her foster cat siblings.  Her favorite spot is on the couch snuggled on a blanket.   Rue needs a family who will go slow and be patient. Outside is scary to her but she is working on it!  Rue would do best with someone home part or most of the day to monitor her potty training.  Older kids preferred as well.   The adoption fee of $200 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Story
Prince is 6 years old but has the energy of a puppy. He loves to play and run. Absolutely loves attention and love. He seriously can't get enough of it. He is house trained. He sleeps in his kennel so when you tell him kennel or "In" he knows where to go. He needs a fenced in back yard due to the fact if he's able to run free he most definitely will take the opportunity. After a good hour or so he's ready to come back inside. He is not neutered so will need that done within 30 days of adoption. We feel after that his energy levels should calm down a bit. This boy just needs a family that can keep up with him and isn't too busy for his needs.

Story
This dog is very intelligent. He is also pretty lazy. Very low maintenance he likes to be left alone sometimes but he also likes to be close to you. His history includes being rescued from a hoarding Situation in the state of Iowa. Very little food a lot of animals domestic and wild. Hes a very loyal dog however he does have a little bit of Aggression. Not so much that he will just attack. I compare him to a cat. Some cats don't want to be bothered and will go away from you and if you touch it too much it might Snap. This is why he is not the best With children. He wont attack a child but children typically over do it with animals and he won't React well. Aside from that he loves to play. Balls, ropes anything with squeakers he fetches. He is pretty good with other species. I've owned dogs cats and rabbits and hes played a protective role. He loves cheese and he Loves rolling In the grass in the Sun. He has a Lots of personality, i just no longer have the time with my job.

Story
Hi I'm Stella. I'm a 7 yr old female Beagle. I am a very petite girl at only 12 lbs. I came to Rover Rescue from an Indiana shelter. I was dropped off with my sister by a breeder. I was definitely bred throughout my life. I lived my life outside and was not treated very well which does explain some of my fears. I will need a lot of patience to allow me to gain some confidence. I will also need someone who is home with me as I do have separation anxiety. Someone who works from home or is retired would be ideal. We are working on my potty training but since spending 7 yrs outside I am moving slowly with training and will need consistency with keeping up on it. I do have accidents in the house and in my crate at times. When I came to Rover Rescue, my poor teeth were in bad shape and I had a bad ear infection. I was spayed, my teeth were cleaned, and I got my ears cleaned with some medicine. I am feeling wonderful! The first few days I was so quiet in my foster home. I mostly hid in the corner of the couch. After some time being here, I am continuing to stay fairly quiet but have come out more for attention. I also discovered my voice. My foster mom has now started to hear I actually do have a bark in me. I have let out some beagle barks in the backyard, but mostly in hopes to catch my fur friends as we play chase in the backyard. My foster mom has also heard me bark at night for which seems like no reason. I live with other fur babies which I love their companionship. My foster mom thinks they have helped me come out of my shell. I am a submissive girl, but will give a jump and bark at the dogs if I feel they are in my space. I have let out an occasion growl. I recently had a puppy friend visit for the week who I did pretty well with. We chased each other around the house and wrestled on the couch. I do love being pet but I tend to cower at first. I do really love curling up on the couch by my foster mom and I sleep so soundly. I am a very sweet girl. I would do best in a quieter home where someone is home a lot. I do get a bit frightened with a lot going on. I also would do best with a dog companion to keep me company when my humans leave the house. A submissive fur friend would be best. I do have some anxiety and my foster mom is seeing some behaviors due to it. Most of my behaviors are like what you'd expect of a puppy. Potty training, chewing and I do like to grab random things and put things in my bed. I will require a patient and loving person who understands things may take time with me. If you would like to come visit me please call (no text messages) my foster mom Dani at 630-254-8647. My adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - free 30 days of pet insurance (requires activation) - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive (when necessary) - deworming
