Due to COVID-19, the unknown surrounding it and, the request that we ALL nationally stay home – OLBH is suspending all adoptions, new fosters and any non-essential visitors to the rescue until which time it is deemed safe to resume normal practice.   This handsome beagle is Horshack :) He was running the roads here in our county and one of our volunteers came upon him after leaving the rescue. She grabbed him up and brought him back to us. No one has claimed him so, he is looking for his forever family. Wonderful boy, all beagle, friendly, loving and gentle. He is available for adoption. We require   that you have a fenced in yard, not a "kennel" in the yard AND we do not approve underground fencing. Depending upon the dog some exceptions are made for those who live in apartments.   We also require that the adoptee will be a part of the family "living" within the home. Our adoption process may be found on our website at www.bitofheaven.org Visits are scheduled by appointment only via emailing request to ownedbycaninesandlovit@yahoo.com

Nelly is a great dog who loves attention and being with her person. She doesn’t love being alone but she’s not high maintenance either. She would do wonderfully in a home with a retired owner or someone that is home often. She does get anxiety when left alone for long periods of time. She loves company and is very loving and playful. We Unfortunately are hardly ever home and we feel it’s just not fair to her. She was found last year wet, cold, abandoned and scared. She needs a loving home that will give her the attention she craves.

We adopted Sig 2 years ago in Georgia. He is a laid back dog who enjoys laying around the house and roaming around a yard. He had been great with our child and other animals, but unfortunately we are renting a much smaller place that does not have much of a yard and my wife and I work odd hours that make it difficult to give him the attention he deserves.

This sweet girl we call Ivy. She was found as a stray and now she's happy to be here where all the cool dogs hanging out waiting to be adopted. We have her listed as a beagle mix. My guess is she's mixed with something larger; Ivy weighs a delicate 46 pounds. She has been dog friendly while at the shelter. She enjoys getting out in the fresh air and wants a companion to share her life with forever. She's a good girl!
