Story
Jeffrey is a 4- 5 year old little boy beagle that is still in New Orleans with our rescue but can easily be transported up to Lisbon, CT using Rescue Road Trips. His adoption fee is $200 and the fee to transport him is $185. He is originally from a high kill shelter in rural LA. We check vet references and do home visits prior to an adoption. We require that our dogs be on monthly year round heartworm prevention. Jeffrey has slightly elevated kidney levels that are being managed easily with a prescription food for kidney issues. He is heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He is super sweet and friendly. He is currently in a foster home and the foster family reports that he is very easy to have around. Please email LoozianaBassetRescue@gmail.com for more information and to request an application. Once your application is approved, I can put you in touch with Jeffrey's foster family who can answer any and all questions about his personality.

Ginger is the sweetest and friendliest girl who just loves everyone she meets. She is playful and active with a lot of spunk for a pup her age. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact info@petadoptionservices.org for more information about this pet.Doc is sweet but shy boy who was picked up as a stray by animal control and never claimed. He was not in the best condition when found, one of his ears malformed due to either a trauma or neglected ear infection that caused him to shake his head enough to cause injury. The animal control officer that brought Doc in was also a little concerned about his behavior, and wasn't sure if he was just scared or if something else was wrong. Doc continued to get overlooked by potential adopters in the shelter for over a month, possibly due to the appearance of his ear, and his shyness. In keeping with the signs that he had not been cared for properly before being picked up as a stray, Doc also tested heartworm positive. Not wanting to take prolong the amount of time before he could start receiving treatment as well as avoiding his risk for being euthanized due to his medical conditions and lack of interest by adopters, we took Doc in. Once he was settled into a foster home, it didn't take long to discover what the officer who picked him up was sensing: Doc suffered a seizure. Epilepsy is difficult to assess in a noisy and busy shelter situation, because a seizure must be witnessed for a diagnosis. We hate to think of how scared Doc must have been in the shelter and how many seizures were missed. But, now he is on medication and doing well and surrounded by love while he receives heartworm treatment, also. Doc's treatment will complete by mid May and he can go to an adoptive home to continue the snuggle therapy initiated by his foster family to help assure him that humans can be kind. Doc is current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative and will need to remain on relatively inexpensive medication for his epilepsy, that will need to be monitored periodically by a vet. If you are interested in giving this boy the second chance he deserves, please fill out a  Dog Adoption Application Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish). ** Local adoptions preferred (within Greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes). We do not ship animals, as a part of our adoption process is for the potential adopter(s) to meet the dog to assess if he/she is a match for the family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
