Story
Cory is an adult beagle mix of some sort. He weighs roughly 40 pounds and he's very strong. Cory loves cuddles and is very mild mannered. He is great at gauging the playfulness and strength. ***Background: Cory was found wandering an apartment complex. The woman there said she found him wandering the streets but she couldn't keep him, so my husband brought him home while we searched for his owners. He seemed to know humans, and was happy to have a home, but he seemed different. Two years later, we have discovered that Cory suffers from extreme separation anxiety and depression. He is doesn't like to upset anyone, but when left alone, he gets into things, and he can't be caged- it terrifies him. We've been struggling with Cory since we found him. Cory is VERY strong, dragging me on his leash, and moving cinder blocks from the fence with ease. He needs someone that can handle his quirks, keep him safe from himself and love him better than we can.

The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Maeve has been my baby for over 7 years. She is very sweet and loves to cuddle and get scratched. She walks super well on the leash. Maeve also walks on her hind legs better than any dog I’ve ever see. I adopted Maeve from an animal abuser’s home. When she came to me you can tell that she has PTSD from these incidents and can be very defensive if she needs to be. She will best fit into a house with no small children or other pets. I have a baby under 1 who is learning to walk and Maeve enjoys her space.

Story
Max is about 10 years old. Max's human Dad passed away. He has a cyst that he needs to have removed and need to be fixed. He has had pre-surgery blood work done already to have cyst removed. I do not have the 500.00 to cover costs. He also has a mass on his upper gums but it isn't bothering him so we decided to let it be.
