Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rigby is a beagle mix male born late August 2011. He is crate and potty trained. Rigby knows how to sit, shake and lay very well, but it did take time for him to realize that his foster mom is in charge. Rigby is very curious and loves living in the city. He goes on lots of walks. He needs time to warm up to you and time to know he is safe with you. He can be a little bit picky about who his friends are. He has done very well with most dogs, but it is important that introductions are done correctly. He does not share living space with another animal and has not been around many children. Rigby is not fan of unexpected touches and will let you know right away if he doesn't like someone. He is so sweet; when he first came to his foster home, he would only sleep on the floor by the bed and wouldn't let his foster mom pick him up.  With time, trust and love, he and his foster mom now dance together and sleep right next to each other! &#226&#128&#139Note from the foster mom:   Rigby does have some resource guarding and is looking for someone who has time and patience to work with him. I have learned the two most important things living with Rigby is my leadership role. You need to take time to show him you are the leader and he can look up to you. Things I have done to help with that are random sit/stays during our walks. The second thing that is very important is trust building. The more trusting Rigby has become of me, the better he behaves and listens. Something I do for that and also the resource guarding is a game called the “name game”  while he is playing with a “valuable toy” I will reward him with small treats, but make him get up and leave his toy. This teaches him that he can trust me and that I won’t take his toys away when he leaves them “unprotected”. We are also spending time learning how to make friends the most comfortable way for Rigby, that includes one dog at a time with a slow introduction. An ideal home for Rigby would have a fenced in yard with no small children. Also at least one long walk a day seems to help keep him happy. When he is not wagging his butt out of happiness you can usually find him sleeping.  He is a great dog and will the make the right loving, patient person an incredible companion.  If you think it may be you and your home, please fill out an application to arrange a meeting  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination.

Story
Lacey is looking for a new home, lots of attention and some one who loves kisses. Lacey is 9 years old but still acts like a puppy. She is house trained and know a few commands. She listens best when on a leash, or indoors. Have taken her to classes for off lease training but it didn't stick , mostly my fault. With some work she may pick it up.lacey is a very energetic dog looking for a good home.

Story
I am Messi. I am from Arkansas. From the foster: Messi is very sweet and very smart! It's been a pleasure to work with her this past week. She's learned not to be afraid of cars, to walk on a leash in the city, to chase a ball, to ride in the car and stay in her seat, to go to the dog park (and to leave willingly), and so much more. She came to me extremely sheltered, but her curiosity and smarts have really led her start enjoying the world. She's still a puppy and has yet to learn how to potty outside. She's crate and pad trained, and working on going outside - we've had a few triumphs at the dog park! She's very quiet, a little submissive and unsure about a lot of things - but loving and playful. She LOVES people and other dogs, and would do best with another dog friend, and a fenced yard to show to her how it's done. She's a pleasure to be around! Messi needs firm, consistent direction and communication - she responds really quickly to this. Once she gets the basics down, she could really excel in the tricks department. When she knows what to do, she really listens, and responds quickly. She also LOVES other dogs, she's very playful, and loves to run at the High Bridge dog park, in Saint Paul. Having another dog and a fenced yard will go a long way in getting her away from the potty pads.

Hi! My name is Broski and I am from Kentucky. From his foster: Broski is a playful and social pup who loves everyone! He's very affectionate and the cutest snuggler. Be prepared for him to take over your lap! He also enjoys playing with other dogs and does great with cats. He needs more work with crate training and basic commands, but he's catching on quickly. He knows "sit" and is always happy to come when you call him! He'll be the best buddy to everyone in his forever home.
