Story
To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.   Eddie is a 7 year-old Beagle/Doxie mix male who was adopted from us 6 years ago but returned in August 2016 because his family’s circumstances had changed and they were no longer able to care for him. Sadly, he came back to us very obese. Eddie's ideal weight is about 30 pounds but when he was returned to us, he weighed in at a staggering 55 pounds. Thanks to his great foster mom, Eddie is now down to about 36 pounds with a strict diet and exercise program. His photos were taken in August 2018 and show how he looks now. We'd love to see Eddie lose those last few pounds and reach his ideal weight. Everyone knows that those last few pounds are always the hardest to lose but Eddie feels so much better now and is committed to getting back to his healthiest and staying that way. Fortunately, he loves carrots and green beans as treats. Eddie will need a new home where his family will commit to his healthy lifestyle. Eddie does not like being crated so his foster mom has left him loose in the house when she's gone and he has been fine with that. He is house-trained and walks nicely on a leash too. Eddie doesn't like to share his things (or people!) with other dogs so would prefer to be the only dog in the home. He would love a new home where his family is around much of the time but no kids please as they make him nervous. Eddie does like to try to chase bicycles, joggers, etc on his walks so will need some follow up training in that area. He also likes to chase small animals so needs a home without kitties. The ideal home for Eddie is with a mature single person or couple who live in a quiet rural area where he won't be overwhelmed with a lot of traffic, people walking by, and city noises. He would love it if his humans would be able to spend lots of time with him. Eddie would enjoy having a secure aboveground fenced yard where he could get lots of exercise keeping the squirrels and chipmunks at bay as well as daily walks in a quiet, rural setting. Eddie's foster mom has taught him many commands including sit, stay, come, down, shake hands, and beg (his serious food focus helps with training!) and he can also catch treats on the fly like a pro. Eddie is a funny dog with lots of character. He loves sitting on chairs--any chair--his foster mom often finds him sitting politely on a dining room or kitchen chair as if he's waiting for dinner to be served! Once Eddie makes friends with someone, you've got a friend for life but he will need an experienced owner who is able to give Eddie the space he needs to adjust to his new home and family. He can become quite protective of his home and family so his introduction to visitors in the home must be done carefully--or better yet, give Eddie something to chew on in another room when company comes and he'll be happy as a clam. His adoption fee is $150. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Since he's been back with us, Eddie has had a dental cleaning so has a beautiful white smile. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Eddie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junk mail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos and videos of Eddie and to submit an online application.

Story
To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.   Delta is a beautiful 3 year-old Beagle/Cattle Dog mix who was found as a stray along with Dazzle who looks like her identical twin. Both girls made their way to the local shelter and when they weren’t claimed, they traveled to Canine Lifeline so they could relax in a foster home while searching for permanent new homes. The first thing we noticed about Delta when she arrived is that she does NOT like her sister Dazzle. Perhaps too much togetherness over the years has finally worn thin so Delta would love her very own Dazzle-free home. She may even prefer a home as an only dog as she absolutely loves snuggling with her human friends and gets very attached very quickly. Delta gets so relaxed when she’s getting love and attention from her human friends that she enjoys being held like a baby. She has very pretty markings and excellent crate manners. Delta may be housetrained too although we can’t promise that. This sweetie is looking forward to accompanying her family on long walks around the block followed by plenty of snuggle time. Delta met the resident kitty at the vet clinic and was interested in her but showed no aggression. She might chase cats though if given the opportunity. Delta weighs about 23 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Delta. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Delta and to submit an online application.

Story
Tessi is currently fostered in Euclid Ohio, and her adoption fee/donation is $150 Tessi is an approximately 2-3 yr old beagle mix, that came into our rescue from a shelter in southern Ohio. She is an honorary cocker, and is the size of one, she weighs only 25 lbs, and is small for her breed. Tessi was very unsocial when coming into rescue, she was picked up as a stray originally, and was very much a feral dog. It took some time to bring her around, however she is becoming more and more social all the time. She will still spook easily from loud and/or sudden movements. Tessi will need a fenced in yard where she can run and play, she acts very much like a puppy in many ways. She will chew and destroy stuffed toys, as well as shoes and pillows if she is left alone without being crated. We are still working on her housetraining skills, but she is doing well for the most part. Tessi loves to run and play with other dogs, she definitely needs at least one other dog in her adoptive home, we don’t think she will do well as an only dog. This active and playful girl needs an owner willing to continue to work with her on social skills, and basic obedience. Tessi is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. If you would like to adopt Tessi or would like more information on her, please fill out an adoption application We do not have a shelter, all rescues are in foster homes - Dogs are not shown without first being approved to adopt. Story
Viktor is currently fostered in Mentor Ohio, and his adoption fee/donation is $150 Hi there, My name is Viktor, I am a beagle mix of some sort, and I am only 2 yr old. I had a rough start in life, I was born in the wild to feral mother dog, and the animal warden had to trap me to catch me!!! I was so fearful of humans, I had no social skills at all, and took quite some time to come around when being near humans. I am happy to report, that I am now ready for adoption!! I am able to be petted, loved on, and live like a real dog, isn’t that so cool!! I am living with many other foster brothers and sisters, the four-legged kind that is. I get along well with them, and like to play, I still have a ways to go when it comes to being leashed, and walking without freaking out!! I will need a forever home that has at least one other dog, because I get my confidence from them, it’s a comfort mechanism for me, and I would be sad if I were alone without another dog as a friend. I need to be in a fenced in yard when I go outside, I am learning about something called housetraining, and I think I am catching on. I do my business outside when my foster mom puts me out, but I do still occasionally make a mistake. I am used to my crate, and I stay in there every day when my foster mom works, you see it keeps me out of trouble!! I am a small dog, only about 20 lbs, I am full grown, and will not get any bigger, so if you are looking for smaller, then I could be your dog!! Oh, I do have a bad habit of chewing things, so I am told I am not supposed to do that. I like to chew, its fun, but these humans tell me that is NOT NICE, and I get into trouble when I chew up something.I will work on being a good boy, I promise, I just need to be trained I guess, can you help me? I will give you lots of love in return!!! Viktor is neutered, current on vaccines, and is heartworm negative. If you would like to adopt Viktor or would like more information on him, please fill out an adoption application We do not have a shelter, all rescues are in foster homes - Dogs are not shown without first being approved to adopt. Story
Aruba came from Aruba. She was born in May 2019 and is a Cunucu. We flew her home while we were on vacation, she got along great with our 2 dogs and everything was perfect. except she is so aggressive. she has never bitten but she does snap, growl, and just doesn’t like people. We can’t do it anymore, we have tried trainers, communication skills, and we’re at our last straw. We want Aruba to go to a very loving home, one that will give her unconditional love because that’s what she got here. Aruba is friendly with other dogs, and cats. She has never been around children, but i would assume she wouldn’t like them. If you have any questions please contact me immediately!
