You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Lynn & Cedric (lynnwelcomesyouhome@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. All of our dogs and cats are in foster homes and we have no paid staff.  If you have questions concerning a specific animal,  PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch.  We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs and cats until your application is processed.  Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments.  Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants.  The adopter will be chosen at that time.  The process can take anywhere from a week to a month.  We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!   UPDATE - Professor has an auto immune disorder.  He will have to be on meds all his life.  If we try to take him off he starts to lose all his hair and his skin turns fire engine red until it starts bleeding and his face becomes very swollen.  He is not a dog for someone that does not have the funds for vet visits and weekly medicated baths etc....  He is super sweet he can be grumpy with some dogs but has never caused a fight.Well my name is Professor Ratagan.  Everyone smiles when they say it so I guess I will keep it :)   I had a really not so nice owner and he did some not so nice things to me :(   When the people at the shelter found me I was laying on the side of the road.  I had no fur left and I was really cold!  They thought I was a dead rat :(   Thank heavens the kind lady stopped to check and they realized I was alive but in very bad shape :(   They took me to the vet and tried to help me but living at the shelter for 3 months while they tried to build an animal cruelty case was taking a toll on me.  Then one day the Director from 2nd Chance showed up to pick up a bunch of dogs and she saw me and knew I needed her.  She asked to take me home that day but the shelter said no because they were still trying to press charges.....  Lucky for me my foster mommy didn't give up she kept asking about me and one day the shelter ladies decided I could go live with the Director!!!!I am getting really nice, warm medicated baths and visits to the vet and my foster mommy says she thinks I am really handsome just the way I am but she is going to help me get my fur back and frankly I smell a little 'ripe' with my skin infection so I will be really happy when that gets cleared up and I can smell 'handsomely sweet'!!!!Mommy says we could really use help with my vet bills and special shampoo etc...Thank you for reading my story!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to  families with children under the age of 5.  We do not adopt dogs to renters.  Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment.  The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners.  We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.  Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

Edward was loved but came from horrible living conditions, the house was condemned. He is the sweetest boy who loves belly rubs and being outside. Edward cant see or hear much so does need someone to help guide him but he has quickly picked up the house & yard layout and gets around just fine. We have started to work on touch commands. Edward had a spa day today and did awesome, hes so easy going...Edward is12 yrs young, 40 lbs, housetrained and dog friendly! Story
Posted  9/16/16 Rusty was picked up as a stray from one shelter and transferred to another, this poor guy was passed around like candy.  He is fine with dogs as long as he isn't on a leash.  He is crate trained and housebroken.  He does have resource guarding issues so we will not place his with any children.  He needs a person that is a little dog savy.  Once he gets to know what is expected of him he is a wonderful dog.  He is not the type of dog to be around too many strangers he can be a bit afraid.  Give him a chance and he will be a great companion.  His adoption fee is $175 he weighs about 40lbs.  All the dogs are Spayed or Neutered, Heartworm tested, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and overall Vet checked. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee along with an adoption kit . Application REQUIRED. Adoption fee required. If interested contact Denise @ (717) 469-7325 Email: Doggieden@aol.com The FIRST STEP to be considered for adopting a pet is to fill out the adoption application COMPLETELY .Fill Out Adoption Application HereOR  thedogsden.rescuegroups.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
