Story
Please contact Pet (information@pethelpersinc.org) for more information about this pet.   Who doesn't love an older beagle? Well, this sweet gal is Dixie! Though her life started out rough , we are her to make sure she ends life being loved and cherished. Dixie was found along with Chester who was younger and already adopted. Dixie had a double hernia but had surgery to repair that. Dixie loves everyone she meets!. She gets along great with all the dogs and cats in her foster home. Dixie is happy just hanging out on the couch or a dog bed. She would love a quiet r etirement home. But a fenced yard is required. She doesn't do well pottying on a leash Dixie is around 8 or 9 years old and weighs about 25lbs. She has done great with housebreaking as long as she is let out enough. She is now spayed, utd on shots, flea treated, wormed and microchipped. Are you that special person ready to give this senior gal her furever loving home ? If so fill out an application at https://www.pethelpersinc.org/adoption-application/ Her adoption fee is only 75.00 and she is being fostered in Clarksburg WV For more information on this animal email adoptionisforever@pethelpersinc.org. Pet Helpers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster based volunteer rescue located in Fairmont, WV.  We do adopt out of state to approved applicants, if you are willing to drive to WV to pick up your pet.  We do not fly or use transport companies.  Our adoption fee is $150.00 for mixed breed puppies and adult dogs, $225.00 for full blooded puppies and adult dogs and $50.00 for cats and kittens.  Regardless if the animal is a mixed breed or full blooded they are spayed/neutered prior to adoption IF they are old enough.  If they are too young at the time of adoption, then it is your financial responsibility to spay/neuter the pet by the age of 6 months and you must provide proof for our files that it has been done.  All of our pets are checked by a vet, given the shots appropriate for their age and any other treatment deemed necessary by the vet.  All of our pets are adopted as indoor pets and are not be outdoors tied to a box 24/7.  The pet you are adopting has been living in a home with a foster family.  You are expected to take possession of the pet you are applying for within a few days of application approval.  This will enable us to accept another pet into that home.  Because we are a rescue, and believe that spaying and neutering is crucial in stopping the reproduction of unwanted puppies/kittens and massive amounts of animals dying daily in shelters across the country, we expect any animal already in your home to be spayed/neutered. If for any reason you are unable to keep the pet you have adopted you are required to return them to Pet Helpers, Inc.  They are not to be sold or given away.   Check us out on Facebook!!!!!!  We hope you will give us two paws up, like our page and share with your friends.  Pet Helpers, Inc.

VOLUNTEERS :  ARF needs transport drivers who can do legs between WV and New England! Driver Application: http://form.jotform.us/form/50214993744156 More Info: https://groups.io/org/groupsio/ICanDrive Click the image above or use this link to contact us: http://form.jotform.us/form/51806042497154 Jerry is a beagle/boston terrier about four years old who came to the shelter with Snickers.  The two were strays but were staying together.  Jerry is 25-30 pounds and is a nice little guy.  When a child or older adult comes to walk a shelter dog, Jerry is often chosen for them.  He is cooperative and easy to handle.  Jerry takes treats gently and waits to be offered.  He is a gentleman.  Jerry is a brown brindle with some white, and the white hair around his face makes him look older, as if he has grayed.  But Jerry isn't old, and folks are often surprised that he's not.  If you want a good dog that is through the puppy stage but still has a lot of living to do, you might want to look at Jerry. Story
Minnie is 2 and a half yards old. She's the perfect size. She's sweet and loving, playful....... but the beagle in her will get her in trouble sometimes. She loves to run, so If she gets past you, a fenced yard would be recommended.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello. My name is Dixie. I was found in an unfortunate circumstance outside my home. My family relinquished me to the Olive Branch so that I could receive the care I needed. I have been having a ball making new friends.  I seem to love everyone. I lived outside most of my life and I don't want to share my family with any other pets, so I prefer to be the only fur baby.  I heard one of the ladies here say I'm a sweet old girl. I don't know who they are calling old! I've been feeling younger than I have in years. My vaccinations are current, but I tested positive for Lyme Disease and I was severely anemic,  I just finished treatment  for both of those. They've been fattening me up too! I just reached the point that I am healthy enough, so I was just spayed. If you would like to give a spunky 'old' gal her second chance, fill out the adoption application or call 304-652-1010 to schedule a time to meet me. Story
We adopt to MD, PA, DE, NJ, CT and possibly further into New England. Rescue inquiries welcome. We have transport assistance to northeastern states. 3/19 may be ready to go back to Jessica next week When she is recovered, Judy will be available for direct adoption to adopters in MD, PA, NJ, CT or MA. Judy will not be available to go to rescue. Jessica wants to do a direct placement with her. 1/22/2020 Judy will need to have her ear canal removed as the infection hasn't cleared up despite medication and food changes. 12/30  Judy has to teeth with the roots exposed which are likely leading to her ear problems. 12/28 Judy went to Sheabel for her ears. 9/10 Judy has osteomyelitis in her swollen leg. The bones are soft. This is from an old fracture that did not heal. Her femur is not effected. Judy will undergo surgery this week to amputate her leg, repair her hernia, and work on her teeth. Her white blood cell count is high even with the antibiotic she's been receiving.  8/27 She likes her alone time but is social.  Loves attention. Doesn’t like baths. Tail wags a lot. Second dose of antibiotic and rimadyl this morning. 8/26 Judy has had her first dose of her antibiotic and pain med, she’s retreated to the bedroom to be alone. 8/26 She can't use her swollen leg at all so she couldn’t stand in the tub without sliding so I put an old shirt in with her to help. I started cleaning on her ears last night but they are painful so I didn’t get a lot done- started antibiotic ear drops. Her swollen leg has a hole in it that’s draining.  8/25 Judy was found last week at a mine in Gilbert WV.  Judy has a swollen hind leg that she’s not using, a hernia, bad teeth, a skin infection, hair loss, two infected ears, and her face and ears are not symmetrical. She has a long road of recovery ahead.Adopters: https://artbar-wv.org/adopt Rescues: https://artbar-wv.org/rescue Donate: https://artbar-wv.org/donate Volunteer: https://artbar-wv.org/volunteer Subscribe: https://artbar-wv.org/subscribe
