(Courtesy posting) Hi! My name is Bear! Please read my bio below! I am a Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix, a very nice boy! Weight and Age: I am 50 pounds and am approximately 10 months old. Background: I was pulled by the rescue from a kill shelter here in Houston after several of the volunteers had seen a posting on the shelter site asking for a rescue to commit to me. I had been picked up by animal control and I am now in a loving foster home with another dog and am loving it! Medical Status: I have been neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on shots, and current on heartworm and flea prevention. I have no other health issues and am heart worm negative. YAY! Activity level: I am pretty active since I'm still young and love to play with my friends (human and dog alike)! Potty Training/Crate Training: I am crate-trained and have learned house-training from my foster mom! Other Animals: Loves any and all! Special Needs: None Dog Park friendly: I would love it! YIPEE Good off leash: Not a bolter, but too young to know Location: Houston, TX but I'm available for out of state adoptions! Out-of-state adoption fee is $450 and includes my vaccines, neutering, microchip, health certificate AND airline transportation (YIPEE) from Houston, TX to areas in the Northeast U. S., North Central U. S., Northwest U. S., and Canada and will be arranged by the rescue group. Story
Toro! Toro! Toro! Just look at this beautiful boy. He is a hard working dog with lots of energy and athleticism and is ready to follow your commands and lead. He loves to chase balls and is alert to your guidance. Toro is very sweet but had a tough start in life so will need some extra care and work by his adopter. Someone who is experienced with this breed would be perfect! He is still very young and is a bit mouthy but redirects easily and happily. He can leap tall buildings in a single bound so will need a very secure yard to run around in. And if you need a working dog this smart boy is perfect for you. He walks well on a leash but would benefit from additional leash and general obedience training. He is motivated by treats so is easily trainable. But mostly Toro is motivated by love. He is completely devoted to his handler. Toro is a very big and strong boy that plays hard so a home with children would not be ideal unless his person is an experienced and confident handler. He has been tested with other dogs and is just a bundle of fun. He will definitely need a lot of exercise and would do well in a home with other dogs. Because he just loves company whether two legged or four legged.....it doesn't matter to Toro because he just wants to be a part of the Pack. He has been working with a professional trainer who has assessed him as being incredibly smart and believes he should go to a home that plans on working with him a lot. Again, probably not a good fit for a family with children. Toro is a healthy boy and prior to leaving our Baja rescue he will be given another full medical assessment to insure he remains in optimum health.
