Story
Max is a 5-year-old Bichon/Poodle mix who needs a special home.  Max was unable to adapt to apartment life because he has a tendency to attack any animal and human he doesn't know.     He is a one-person dog and is very loyal and loving with that person.  He isn't fond of men.  He has done well with dog-savvy older children.   He will warm up to regular visitors and family members when he gets to know them.  Although he is very intelligent, understands language, and knows several commands, he has proven difficult to train and has defied his owner's commands.  He enjoys being active and enjoys walks.  He loves to play with his toys but can be toy aggressive.  The perfect home for Max will be with a single, active woman who has few visitors.  He wants an owner who will take him for walks and play outside with him in a fenced yard.  Because of barking, he will fit in better if there are no close neighbors. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that a dog is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home.  This means that our exposure to the dog is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet.  If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. The suggested adoption donation for Max is $350.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
