Story

Henry is a sweet, very friendly people oriented big boy with a sad tale. He is so handsome and friendly. He was found by a trucker hiding beneath his 18 wheeler at a truck stop. He was starving to the point of near death and freezing. Other truckers said he had been hanging around for over a month looking for a kind soul and some food. This one trucker took him home. They fed him and vetted him. He is about two years old. He had no signs of physical abuse, just starvation from being homeless in the Winter. He has all shots. He is house trained but not altered. I was looking for a coonhound on various sights but each one I selected had either been adopted or was pending. An offbeat site which is not a rescue or shelter caught my eye. They drove him to me last night but he chases my cat. He needs a strong hand as he sometimes pulls if he sees a deer or a squirrel. I do not have a fenced in yard which he needs. He would do well in a family with older children.

Story

I adopted Lana when she was 11 months old and the last two years have been pure joy. Lana is a social 3-year-old hound mix with lots of energy. She knows sit, stay/wait, down, paw, other paw, high five, bang bang and more. As with most rescue animals, she does have issues with separation anxiety. It would be ideal for her new home to have other animals (or people) for her to spend time with when you leave. She is a great dog and I would love to keep her, unfortunately, my new position will keep me on the road several days a week.

Callie is a gorgeous Bluetick Coonhound. She has all the beautiful markings of her breed. When Callie was surrendered by their owner, she was covered in ticks, skinny and smelly. She has since been cleaned up and been to the vet. Callie is very sweet and loves attention and gets along with other dogs. She is not a fan of cats. She did test positive for Lyme's Disease and has been placed on an oral antibiotic. The vet did clear her to still be able to be adopted and finish her antibiotic with her new family. Callie is about 6 years old and 40 pounds. Please help Callie find the loving home she deserves! Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes.
