At 10 years of age, Schroeder is considered a senior but he has all of the spunk of a much younger dog! This Bluetick boy is about 60 lbs of pure love, especially for children. He will kennel when told and will stay by his human's side all day long. Schroeder has had no issues with other dogs or cats. He is working on house manners, would do great in any household environment and is very low key. Schroeder rides well in a car, too. He is being fostered in the Houston area. Story
Homie was a pup when we saw him in the Canton Texas flea market. He is about 6 months old with a playful and curious character. He was and is still too adorable not have around. Our goal was to keep him as an indoor outdoor dog and potty train him. By the time homie was with us, it was too late. We did not do our research on this kind of breed dog. He is a hound dog that needs to be outside most of the time and constantly busy with someone who will train him. It's very difficult to let him go because he is part of the family. We have several indoor trained German shepherds and they cannot get along. Homie is a sweetheart, he is playful and a great protecting pet. I would love to keep him but he deserves a better environment.

Hello everyone! My name is Isla and I am a 3 year old blue heeler/lab mix looking for my new forever home. I am a very sweet and smart young lady and I can’t wait to meet you. A little bit about me: I am an active gal who loves walks, hikes, runs, and rides in the car. I am a good girl on the leash and will stay by your side. I really love to play fetch and will do pretty much anything to retrieve a ball. I am extremely loyal and my parents say I’m a little bit of a “velcro” dog, whatever that means. My favorite place to be is right by your side - I may even follow you into the bathroom! I also won’t wander away, even if you have me off my leash. I am very loving and promise I will always be there to happily greet you when you get home and to make you feel better when you are down. I am spayed, fully potty trained, have gone through obedience training, and am up to date on my shots. My current owners have had me since I was 8 weeks old so I am a very healthy gal.

Reno came to us from a situation where many dogs where being dumped in the country and the property owner needed help. He is very laid back and sweet. He likes other dogs and does pretty good on a leash. He is a little shy meeting new people but does warm up quickly. He is new to 4P2L and working on house manners as we believe he may have only been an outside dog. More info to come as we get to know him. Story
Shadow has been in his foster home only a short time. But in those few days / weeks, he’s shown how quickly he can become attached to “his” human! He’s a gentle guy, despite his 60 pounds. The vet has guessed him to be quite young (roughly 12 – 15 months old in early November.) Shadow gets along wonderfully with his foster’s 100lb Rottweiler mix, but two additional family dogs have recently joined the household, and they’ve decided they don’t like Shadow at all! Despite their attitudes toward him, he’s shown great restraint! He’s housetrained, but doesn’t appreciate a crate! He can be nervous, becoming startled at loud noises. He quickly learned how to “sit”, and his foster is working to teach him he doesn’t have to eat as if he were in a race! He’s a handsome, kind dog who would needs a family to love! If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Shadow is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
