Story
The desert dingo. This gorgeous gal came from the Las Vegas area, her mother was an Australian Shepherd and her father possibly a dingo???? Or more possibly a shepherd of some kind. Farfella is a unique dog. She is highly active, intelligent, full of vinegar and flowers, lovely, sweet, high stung at times, vocal, silly, and quite the herder. She is around 11 months old and has developed into a great dog. She know her commands, sit, down, stay, leave it, Stop, heel, come, go to bed, in the car and quite a bit more. Her capacity to learn is endless and she needs an owner that will work her brain.  Currently she lives with a pack of dogs and some cats. She gets along great with both but cats must be dog saavy or she will chase. Farfella is also trained with an Ecollar to a recall, so any one interested in really getting into some dog training, this is your girl. Farfella can be selective with certain dogs, she gets nervous with Giant breeds due to their size, but can be reactive with any dog that is new at first meet. She takes time to warm up to both people and dogs. Farfella is very loyal to her care givers and likes to know where they are and what they are doing, but is independent enough to go off and chew on something alone or play with a housemate.  Farfella would not do well being the only dog, she gets anxious without a dog. If some one has a situation like that: ideally they need to be an active household that has the ability to socialize her with dogs regularly and be around he often-no long days at work and she is home alone, Farfella doesnt do well like that.  She is crate trained and sleeps soundly in it, we recommend that be part of her transition to a new home as well as a plan to further her training. NO small children kids over 13 is fine, she is a handful on her own.   If you are interested call or email:   847-338-3252 or info@redemptionroadinc.org     More info coming soon! Story
Roger is a 10 month border collie/pitbull mix with all shots up to date. If I had to choose three words to describe him, SO loyal, SO smart, and SO silly would be my top choices. He’s shown great promise with exercise, basic training around the house, and a bark collar. Unfortunately, he is not adapting well to our new apartment at college, resulting in an upset landlord and neighbors. I have no doubt that he will be the PERFECT dog for someone who has the time and stability he requires- especially after some training lessons and socialization with other dogs. Roger is a sweet companion who has made his way into my heart. I’ll love him forever and that is a big reason for choosing to rehome- he deserves a little more time and patience than he can receive with my college schedule.

Story
MEET MAGGIE!! Maggie is definitely a Border Collie (Mix), with traits typical of the breed. She’s a great watch dog, and is committed to her people. She’s VERY smart and a quick learner too. In spite of her neglectful and painful past, this precious girl always has a smile on her face. Maggie came to BAARK from a high kill shelter downstate, having been surrendered by her family after a kid in the family was hitting her, while she was eating and Maggie snapped back. The family decided it was easier to get rid of Maggie, a loyal family member, rather than teach the kids respect for the family pet. Maggie is a senior and it immediately became apparent to us, that she had had a tough and neglectful life. Maggie is 8-10 years old, about 32 lbs, is very alert, and sociable, but suffers from some arthritis. As such she walks a bit slow and requires joint supplements and pain meds. But she gets around fine on her own. Maggie loves being outside, observing her surroundings. She also enjoys car rides. An ideal home for Maggie is most definitely with a family who will love her unconditionally, give her the attention she deserves, and be patient with her. The family needs to be aware of her arthritis; a home with limited stairs is best. Maggie is fine with other dogs particularly males vs females. Given her past experience, an all adult household, or one with kids over the age of 12 years is best. A family with experience with the Border Collie breed is ideal. Maggie is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. She has been treated for heartworm which she had contracted during her neglectful past. Year-round heartworm preventative is absolutely essential for Maggie. If you are interested in providing this sweet and highly intelligent senior a forever home in which to spend her twilight years, please contact BAARK at BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895
