Story
Milo is a beautiful 10 month old Border Collie who was too active for his elderly owner so he is looking for a new home. He is a true herder, will even try to herd his humans, so no children please. He would excel at agility or herding events. He likes toys. We're not sure he's safe with cats or small animals. Please be someone who has the time and space. We would love a farm for him, but he is 100% an indoor dog and must live with his people. Please fill out the application as we are doing private appointments only. Apply at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp

Zoey is 4 years old this spring. She loves to play, run and SNUGGLE. She is very affectionate and has been great with our young children. She is crate trained, house trained and listens to basic commands. She gets along with other dogs her size or larger when introduced properly. She should NOT be in a home with small animals as she has a high prey drive- otherwise she is a perfect companion.

Story
We have had our dog for 8 loving years. We have been unable to maintain her lifestyle similarly after relocating to an apartment after being in a house with a yard. She is seeking stimulation, exercise, and continued socialization that we are unable to provide due to space and budgets. She is becoming home-bound and more territorial as result. We do not want her to be isolated and territorial. She was not this kind of dog and we only want the best environment for her. She has never bitten anyone, however, like a true collie, she can be possessive of her owner and family if strangers come near. With very active walks, play and continued socialization, she can be a happy, healthy dog that makes some family very happy. Only those with dog experience, time to play, socialize her, exercise her and have a yard should consider adopting this very loyal, healthy wonderful dog. We will miss her but we do not want her isolation to lead to negative behavior and wish to keep her happy and safe.

Story
RC resides at a rescue in Arkansas.  All inquiries must be directed to Gail's Pets Second Chance. RC, aka Rooster Cogburn, is a male puppy approximately 1 year old and a Border Collie mix weighing 35 pounds. (He was named that because Gail thought he had a lot of 'grit' when he arrived at the rescue very skinny.) Sad story. His owner gave him to a friend last October because she had to move and couldn't take him with her. The 'friend' she gave him to mistreated him. He was so skinny when we took him in, but he has 'fattened' up and is doing great. He is a very friendly boy and loves every person he meets. We're not sure about other dogs when it comes to feed time. We tested him out with a female dog about his size and they were fine with each other until they approach the feed tub. So, were sure he would do fine in a home with another dog as long as they are fed separately. He was neutered last week and has received his rabies vaccine, distemper/parvo and kennel cough vaccines. RC is a special needs boy. The vet diagnosed him with hip dysplasia. He said it was very unusual for a dog this age to have that. So, RC will need to be a vetprofen for the rest of his life to alleviate any pain associated with that.RC is looking for a furever home and we sure hope that is with you. RC resides at a rescue organization in Arkansas. Please contact Gail Ross at 870-431-8229, or via email at gailspets@hotmail.com to discuss this dog. You can find our adoption application by going to www.Gailspets.org and clicking on the Adoption Application tab. The application, when completed and submitted, will be electronically sent to Gail’s email address. **NOTE - The breed(s) and age listed for the dogs are estimates given by our vet unless we note that a dog is pure bred.If you live in Illniois, Indiana, Ohio or on the East Coast, we work with a wonderful transport company that takes extra special care of the precious cargo that they deliver to anxious new families. Please email us at gailspets@hotmail.com for a listing of their standard stops.**Ozark Mutts and Stuff is listing this dog as a courtesy to another rescue. Story
Hi, my name is Summer! According to my DNA test I’m part cattle dog and boxer! My foster parents say they “love me to pieces.” Not sure what that means, but I think it’s a good thing. I’m a pretty, young girl who loves to be petted and weigh 35-40 pounds. I’m housebroken, crate- trained, have all my shots and spayed. I’m ready to go! What’s special about me? The list is long so let’s just say I have excellent hearing to alert you of trouble – did you notice my ears? I have a compact muscular body making me a healthy pal for walks and activities of all kinds. I’ve become good at meeting new people and sometimes offer my paw and give little kisses. I can jump high and run fast, and would be great at agility! You’ll laugh at my goofy ways and swoon when you look into my eyes. Finally, I look great in black, so no ‘little black dress’ for me! High on my list is a family who can help me with my separation anxiety. I love my people so much that I don’t like being without them. If I’m outside playing, rest assured that I’ll check on you regularly to make sure you’re OK. But, I’m young and will learn that you’ll come back home after shopping for my treats. I enjoy playing with other dogs and I’m all for teens, just no small kids as I have no experience. I love being outdoors so a fenced yard sure would be great! After a fun day, let’s just snuggle and watch Nat Geo Wild. Check out my new video here: https://youtu.be/WLi9-Kn3m38 If you think I’m your gal, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://bit.ly/2JnZqK5 Summer is being fostered in Framingham MA. Her adoption fee is $300. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
