Story
**Thank you for your interest in the dogs of Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary! At this time, due to the Coronavirus, the adoption program at Mackenzie's has been put on hold, and we will no longer be accepting new adoption applications. Please watch our website (www.mackenzies.info) or follow us on Facebook for the most up to date information, as this is how we will announce when we are resuming our normal adoption activities. We thank you again for your understanding and unwavering support, and want to assure you that our dogs are receiving excellent care as we endeavor through this challenging time.** Sam-I-Am is the smartest dog ever!! His D.O.B. is 5/17/12. Sam is a wicked smart and very handsome border collie mix. He loves to play fetch - tennis balls are his favorite - and loves to run and play outside, whether it's taking a walk or taking a dip in the pond. He is pretty independent, but really likes to be with his family. Loves to hang out in the office of the MAS adoption coordinator. He really doesn't need to be fussed over, just happy to hang out with you. Long walks, walking trails and playing in the back yard are his favorite things to do. He is not a small child dog, an adult family would be best. He is not a big fan of other dogs, although he can walk by them. Meet-Your-Match Canineality color is: Orange Wallflower! Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary is the Midwest's largest no-kill dog sanctuary. As such, Mackenzie's is 'a home along the way,' providing our dogs with excellent and individualized care in all areas (medical and otherwise) and tending to whatever special needs a dog may have. Some of our dogs have special behavioral needs (like fear issues) and will need to build a relationship with the adopter before going to their forever home. For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info
