Story
“Dani”, has just arrived at our rescue! Here is what we know right away, she has a delightful demeanor about her. She loves to be with people. We have no idea of her breed mix and what we have listed is only a guess. She was just spayed on 3/19, and brought to foster on 3/20. She’s had a lot of physical and mental challenges thrown at her in the last week and if this is “Dani”, at her worst, she is a treasure! She is 2 years old and currently a tall 17 lbs. She is thin and should be about 19 lbs. HEARTS Transport runs a set schedule with 2 CT stops. They charge 145.00 per dog. (we will tell you all about them). “Dani”, is currently fostered in East Tennessee. For any questions call Debbie at 423-329-6749 any day before 8:00 PM, or go to Brighthopeadoptions@gmail.com and request an application.

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     This guy loves to be outside so a person w/ a lot of outdoor time and then snuggly time is his Zazu's ideal home.  But he is for EXPERIENCED adopters only, preferably a solo person in the home and no children and not in a City environment. 8y 38lb Zazu fka Zebracake is a good looking gent, reasonably well-groomed and dressed in lush dark chocolate and black coat. His amber eyes light up his face. His muzzle is very slightly grey, and his mouth opens often into a lovely smile. Zazu is a little shy in his kennel but gets leashed fairly rapidly. He is a very good walker, marks a little his territory, and eyes the pigeons as well as the squirrels in the park. Well, he is just doing his job, as he is part of the herding group of dogs. Zazu does not mind being stared at by me and the camera. He will sit on command and is not at all interested in my treats that I thought were quite tasty. He seems to like my caresses all over his body. He is a really very gentle and well-mannered pooch. As we were early visitors at a nearby park, we did not meet many dogs, and those we encountered did not elicit much attention from Zazu. He is an easy going character, friendly, a little shy–at least inside our walls–and a lovely Collie/Retriever mix who is sure to attract connoisseurs of the breeds. Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there)Twitter: zanisff Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Please go to our site http://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application and return to dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on on Sundays and sometimes on Saturdays--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
I received Benji from a client that no longer could own him due to them moving out of the country a month after they got him at 7 months old. We have had him for 1.5 years and he is just the sweetest dog. He does zanies any opportunity he can! Even in his sleep. He gets along with our other dog and cat even though he is a lot bigger than them both. Benji is very gentle with children. He has been around children from the ages of 2 years old to 11 years old. Benji is house trained and crate trained. He loves the snow and jumping into leaves. He also is very good about going to the vet. He doesn't mind getting his ear cleaned or nails trimmed and he will just about do anything for a treat. He knows how to sit, come, down, and he gives hand shakes or high fives. He is very intelligent and doesn't talk back much. He has lived in an apartment with a park and a house with a backyard. He can accommodate anything it seems and always will show love. I've never seen him snarl/growl-only kisses.
