Story
Sweet and silly and affectionate Cricket will fill every day with love, light and happiness that can’t help but make you smile. Cricket loves you already. This 2-1/2 year old 40lb Border Collie/ Pointer mix wants to find a home where he can share his big heart. In this boy you will find unconditional love. His foster mom can vouch for that, he melted her heart immediately! Cricket LIVES for affection, loves people and animals, the outdoors and lots of playtime. This sweet boy has an adorable little black nub tail that wiggles with joy when he meets you, and he earned his name because of his hilarious little cricket-like hop when he is excited to play or about to be fed! The Border Collie in him shines through; you can see the wheels turning in the way he enjoys fetching balls and playing with his toys in general. He likes to spend his time emptying his toybox one by one and amusing himself with the various toys in it. He adores his foster doggie pal so would be happy in a home with another dog or could be happy to be your one and only furbaby. He is still quite boisterous in his play, and would do well in a home with children 12+ who are able to redirect him. This playful, lovable, eager to please guy will steal your heart, make you laugh and bring boundless joy to his forever home. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here:(https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Willow is a gentle and loving 30-lb. Border Collie mix who is sure to melt your heart! This affectionate young girl (1-2 years old) has a velvety soft, jet-black coat with a white blaze on her chest and paws, and has a sweet and playful disposition. She has all the charms of the border collie breed without the intensity. Found as a stray, Willow instantly settled in to life with her foster family, and adores people. She is a snuggler indoors and a major ball lover outdoors! She bonds deeply to her people, and is loyal, loving and fun. She is a delight to have in the house because she quietly lays at your feet whether you’re cooking or working or even running on the treadmill! From her border collie heritage, Willow has the innate ability to focus and to learn quickly. She is highly attuned to every cue, from a whistle to a hand signal to a raised eyebrow. She will retrieve anything you throw, and loves to learn new games. She would have fun playing fetch with older children, but is a bit tentative around the unpredictable movements of small children so would do best with children over 8. Willow is a nicely balanced girl who has a sweet and cuddly laid back side. When playtime is over, she is equally happy lounging around and getting belly rubs or snuggling in her dog bed. She enjoys car rides, loves leash walks, comes when she is called and already knows “sit” and “paw”. Happy to be with other dogs, Willow could easily enjoy being a solo dog. Wonderful Willow is just looking for a forever loving home with an active buddy to explore the world with.
