Story
RC resides at a rescue in Arkansas.  All inquiries must be directed to Gail's Pets Second Chance. RC, aka Rooster Cogburn, is a male puppy approximately 1 year old and a Border Collie mix weighing 35 pounds. (He was named that because Gail thought he had a lot of 'grit' when he arrived at the rescue very skinny.) Sad story. His owner gave him to a friend last October because she had to move and couldn't take him with her. The 'friend' she gave him to mistreated him. He was so skinny when we took him in, but he has 'fattened' up and is doing great. He is a very friendly boy and loves every person he meets. We're not sure about other dogs when it comes to feed time. We tested him out with a female dog about his size and they were fine with each other until they approach the feed tub. So, were sure he would do fine in a home with another dog as long as they are fed separately. He was neutered last week and has received his rabies vaccine, distemper/parvo and kennel cough vaccines. RC is a special needs boy. The vet diagnosed him with hip dysplasia. He said it was very unusual for a dog this age to have that. So, RC will need to be a vetprofen for the rest of his life to alleviate any pain associated with that.RC is looking for a furever home and we sure hope that is with you. RC resides at a rescue organization in Arkansas. Please contact Gail Ross at 870-431-8229, or via email at gailspets@hotmail.com to discuss this dog. You can find our adoption application by going to www.Gailspets.org and clicking on the Adoption Application tab. The application, when completed and submitted, will be electronically sent to Gail’s email address. **NOTE - The breed(s) and age listed for the dogs are estimates given by our vet unless we note that a dog is pure bred.If you live in Illniois, Indiana, Ohio or on the East Coast, we work with a wonderful transport company that takes extra special care of the precious cargo that they deliver to anxious new families. Please email us at gailspets@hotmail.com for a listing of their standard stops.**Ozark Mutts and Stuff is listing this dog as a courtesy to another rescue. Story
Hi my name is Kobe. I am a 10 Month old Husky/ Border Collie Mix. I love other dogs and love to run and play. Because I am still a young boy I have lots of energy. Love running in big yards with my friends. Good with all children and I just love to lay and cuddle with them, once I've tuckered myself out. I am house-broken but sometimes get a little excited and have accidents, I really don't mean too though. I am really not to sure how I would be with cats as I have never seen one. If you do adopt me would you please give me plenty belly rubs and play fetch with me? Maybe you could even show me someday what a cat is.

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     This guy loves to be outside so a person w/ a lot of outdoor time and then snuggly time is his Zazu's ideal home.  But he is for EXPERIENCED adopters only, preferably a solo person in the home and no children and not in a City environment. 8y 38lb Zazu fka Zebracake is a good looking gent, reasonably well-groomed and dressed in lush dark chocolate and black coat. His amber eyes light up his face. His muzzle is very slightly grey, and his mouth opens often into a lovely smile. Zazu is a little shy in his kennel but gets leashed fairly rapidly. He is a very good walker, marks a little his territory, and eyes the pigeons as well as the squirrels in the park. Well, he is just doing his job, as he is part of the herding group of dogs. Zazu does not mind being stared at by me and the camera. He will sit on command and is not at all interested in my treats that I thought were quite tasty. He seems to like my caresses all over his body. He is a really very gentle and well-mannered pooch. As we were early visitors at a nearby park, we did not meet many dogs, and those we encountered did not elicit much attention from Zazu. He is an easy going character, friendly, a little shy–at least inside our walls–and a lovely Collie/Retriever mix who is sure to attract connoisseurs of the breeds. Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there)Twitter: zanisff Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Please go to our site http://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application and return to dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on on Sundays and sometimes on Saturdays--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.
