Our Executive Director, Katrina said that Edith was a saint on her Pet of the Week segment on KBTX Media!"Edith is a perfect angel. She was one of the BEST dogs I've had on KBTX in a long time! Was sweet to everyone she met, sat nicely, and even looked at the camera. 10/10 good dog." And that's saying a lot - she's taken A LOT of dogs already

Story
Tuffy is a sweet dog that loves to be outside playing with his toys or chasing bugs around the yard. He came to me as a sick puppy, who may possibly need special care throughout his life. He has some neurological issues that we are trying to manage with medication. He quite possibly suffers from distemper and has ticking/jerking movements and occasional crying spells while resting/sleeping. However, when he is awake and actively playing with my dogs or outside with his toys or chasing bugs around the yard, you’d never know he had any issues at all. He has a very sweet disposition and can be shy when you try to pet him or pick him up. He is a wonderful, handsome little guy who needs a wonderful, understanding family. I am guessing he is Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix and may get to be around 40 lbs. However, we don’t know what his mom or dad look like, so this is just a guess. Because of the breeds we think he is, he CANNOT be given Trifexis or any monthly dewormer/flea meds that contain ivermectin. His breeds can have adverse reactions to the aforementioned. Interceptor is the only one, to my knowledge, that would be safe for him. It is possible Tuffy will outgrow the ticks & jerking movements or  they could decrease significantly, or he could need continued meds for the rest of his life. Distemper is not cureable, but it is manageable. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip and rabies and other core vaccinations.
