Story
Bear is a one year old with high energy and doesn't like to be left alone for long. We like to joke that he has a fear if missing out. He needs a good amount of exercise. He is loving and sweet. He loves playing at the dog park and will always keep checking in. If he does escape out the front door, he will not come back until he decides. He is wary of men and if running free in front will run up to adults and bark like crazy. This has caused our neighbors to complain. He doesn't do that will children. Going to vet causes great anxiety. He hates the crate. My 17yr old brought him home with the promise that she would care for him but that hasnt worked well and she will be leaving for college. Bear loves to play tug a war and will sit at your feet when he gets tired. Belly rubs are his favorite. No health or potty issues. He does dig when bored. Big yard would be important.

Story
Welcome Onyx to CCPAL Rescue. She is an adorable medium sized dog. We think she is about 1.5 years old. We got a call by one of our favorite rescuers named Holley. Someone found her on the streets of Texas and she had a litter of puppies. They were about 6 weeks at the time. Holley cleaned them up and brought them to CCPAL. They are now weaned and we will be getting the momma dog spayed and ready for her forever home. She is adorable. She is a very gentle and lower energy dog. She doesn’t jump up. She is fully potty trained, loves her kennel, good with cats and good with dogs. She is so fantastic that her foster mom just leaves her uncrated when she goes to work. She weighs about 25 pounds. She is the size of a Bassett Hound but thinner and more dainty features. We think she is a Border Collie and Basenji due to her curly tail. She is quiet in her foster home and not too vocal. She would be a great dog for someone who wants a rescue dog who has skills and easy to handle. She would be perfect for a family that want to be wowed by a wonderful rescue dog. She is one of those dogs that make you scratch your head and wonder how anyone could let a dog this good get away. She would work in an apartment or in a condo with a smaller yard. She would be a great walking companion and would be a nice house companion for someone looking for this lower energy girl. She was a fantastic momma dog and we adore her. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the local transporters to deliver her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. See her cute video!!

Story
Paisley is a very sweet, smart and energetic girl. She’s a healthy 7 year old border collie/ Stanford shire mix. She can sit, stay, load up, high five, play dead, beg and many more. I’ve had her since she was 2 hours old and it breaks my heart to re-home her. The reason is that I recently had a child and she refuses to bond. Once the child became mobile she became defensive and hostile. Maybe jealousy? We’ve tried everything but I can’t put my baby at risk. We also live near a military base with explosions and loud noises all day that have completely stressed her out. She’s become nervous and started escaping out of our yard, her kennel, chewing the doors when we leave her home. She has never done this before and no anxiety meds will work. Looking for a quiet home where she can cuddle all day, and occasionally get out to go on adventures. She loves walks, road trips and swimming.

Story
How I ended up at a high kill shelter is beyond me. I mean look at me! It must have been after the accident- I had a hurt leg and tail, they wheeled me into a noisy place in a wheel barrel. I was saved by this rescue and have been with my foster family - after a short (nah, it was a really long time in dog years) time wearing a cast- I am good as new. My foster mom says I am sweet boy! I love to catch and eat flying insects, I will throw toys for myself and to entertain you and I would love lots of room to run and play or an active family. Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Texas- My rescue will make all arrangements for me to travel to you as soon as I am adopted. Note: The above bio on the dog reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. We provide adopters current information on our dogs; we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners. Our adoption fees vary, according to species, size, age and other issues. Discounts apply in some cases. Our dogs have been dewormed, heartworm tested (if over 6 months), started on heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, vaccinated for bordetella, dhppv, rabies (if age appropriate) and microchipped. If old enough they are spayed or neutered, otherwise it will be noted and under a foster to adopt contract until completed and an additional deposit of $100 will be required- deposit will be refunded upon request and proof of surgery. A transportation fee of $250 is required and covers health certificate to travel as well as transportation. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately, it is not possible to meet the dogs in person prior to adoption. We will Facetime and you may speak with the dog's foster family. We only send well behaved, well rounded dogs, sending anything other fails the dogs. We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who understand- these are rescue dogs, they will need time to decompress, routine and stability. We put our lives into saving these dogs- we expect their new families to be prepared for a lifetime commitment before applying- dogs are not recyclable. Please do not send an email inquiring about a dog. Please fill out the adoption application found at https://www.rangersreach.org/ We are 100% volunteer ran and you have no clue how bad it is down here; we try as hard as we can to get through applications as fast as possible. If we spend all our time answering inquires and emails, we have no time to look over applications. Please do not apply until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. We do not hold dogs for any reason. We do try to be fair and go in the order applications are received. If no response, decision or adoption is made we must move on to the next application. Applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will receive that dog.

Story
Welcome Roo. He is a 15 or 16-month-old Kelpie/Shepherd mix dog. He is about 70 or 75 pounds. He is a big and energetic dog. He is great with other dogs and gets along well with all personalities. He loves all people as everyone is a potential playmate. He wants to play, run, walk and hike and would be an excellent companion for an active family. He is smart and ready to take direction and allow you to show him the ropes. He is motivated to please and will make a great running, jogging or hiking companion. He would also be fine as a family dog. Due to his energy and excitement, we think kiddos 10 or older would be his best fit. He could be to exuberant for the little tikes. He is currently in Texas and is healthy and ready for his new forever home. He was pulled off the euthanasia list in one of the local Texas pounds by Mandy and her family. He has been in foster care with other dogs and teenagers waiting for his forever family to find him. He would do great in a fenced yard to have area he can run and play. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to have him delivered to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. See his cute video!!

Story
Ray is a 3 year old 60 lb Shepherd Beagle mix. Currently Ray is on a few week trial run, we aren't sure for sure so you can inquire and keep in touch. He is tan black and white. He has been living with a young man for two years that lost his job. He is house trained, leash trained. He loves sleeping in your bed and hanging out with his human. He has basic training. He does have anxiety when he sees other dogs, so he will require more dog socialization. He should begin in a home for sure w/o any other dogs. He is interested in lazy house cats, but pretty much avoids them. He will need an active home with a secure fence where he can get daily walks/hikes and to lose about 10 lbs. No kids under 12 years old. for now, as he is anxious with kids and has not been around them for two years. Taking applications from serious applicants. All adopted pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. For information on how to adopt me, please contact my foster parents at info@dogdiggityrescue.com .
