Zoe is a fun-loving, energetic, and affectionate 9 month-old Boxer/Hound mix spayed female whose goal in life is to have as much fun each day as she possibly can. That’s an admirable goal that we can all live by. This exuberant girl with a zest for life was an owner surrender along with her brother at an overcrowded county dog shelter. Her brother went to another rescue and Zoe made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could have fun in a foster home while searching for the perfect new home. At 9 months-old, Zoe is still very much of a puppy and needs an active family who has plenty of time to spend with her. She LOVES playing with other dogs but she’s a rough and tumble girl who needs a canine companion who can match her very physical style of play. Zoe also loves toys of all kinds, especially the squeaky variety. She is very strong on the leash but does much better when walking with an Easy Walk harness. Zoe pays close attention to her handler when on the leash and seems to be eager to learn. She already knows some commands including sit, down, and shake hands. In spite of her puppy energy, Zoe takes treats very gently. She loves to give kisses to her human friends and enjoys being a lap dog once she’s blown off some steam. Zoe met the resident kitty at the vet clinic and, while she showed no aggression to her, she was very curious and likely to chase a kitty if it ran from her. We’d love to see this girl in a home with an active canine buddy to pal around with or with a family who will take her to doggie daycare a couple of days a week so she can play to her heart’s content. She has had excellent crate manners in her foster home and is likeliy to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Zoe is going to make an excellent companion for the active person or family who has the time to devote to a young dog. Zoe weighs about 45 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. She's fabulous and fun, and remains nicely attuned to her person. She knows how to sit, takes treats nicely, and seems housebroken. She just seems eager to please whoever she's with! Shelly has her moments of spunky playfulness, but overall she's a pretty chill gal who we think will enjoy a lot of relaxation and snuggles in her future home. Shelly was low-key meeting other dogs in play group, and is usually quietly curious passing other dogs on walks. Mushu is a party on four legs! She's a big, mushy, exuberant lady with a lot of moxie. Mushu loves to make friends and her entire body wags when she's excited to see you. She's active, playful and silly and the hilarious expressions on her jowly mug are pretty charming. It's quite entertaining to see her playing with a toy, hopping and chasing it around with not much grace but a lot of enthusiasm. This joyful lady can be a bit of a bull in a china shop - her big personality is not easily contained - but she makes up for it by bursting with adoration for her people. Plus, she knows how to sit and seems housebroken. She'd like to find a family with a sense of humor who is ready to receive the full force of Mushu's love!
