Story
Hello. I'm seeking help for adopting my Brindle, ironically whom I've named Brindle. He was discarded in my yard as a 12 week pup. All the shelters were at capacity here in Southeast Texas. He is now 12 months old. Our other rescue lab mix took to him, so we kept him. Brindle is house broken, crate trained for when I'm not home, neutered, current on vaccines, heart worm, flea and tick Rx. He walks great on a leash. He's being professionally trained with his brother by K-9 obedience with Ms. Carol in Groves. Most importantly he is loved. My husband and I are moving to Corpus Christi. The trainer suggest he be in an ONLY PET household as he loves to play rough. All this to say, it is in Brindle's best interest per our trainer and in my gut that we find him another loving home. Having two male dogs that ideally are walked separately (I've learned the hard way) and a cat Brindle chases non stop is not ideal.

Story
I have been sponsored...my adoption fee is reduced to $0!! I was brought to HSSET through the Pound Program where I had been confiscated from a cruelty/neglect case, I was abandoned in a home and left to starve to death. When I arrived to HSSET I was placed in the Foster Program where I am getting breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and lots of snacks in between) everyday, getting lots of love, and medical care. Here is a note from my Foster Family..."From the first moment I met Kahlua her tail has never stopped wagging. She has an amazing spirit and although she was too weak to even walk, she still managed to lift her head and greet me with an eager tail wag. Her first few days were spent getting some must needed rest in a cozy bed and having breakfast, lunch, and dinner, served to her in bed. She was not able to walk very much and needed to be carried outside to use the restroom, but she didn't have an accident in the house at all. After a few days she was able to move around more and was always at my side, following me around the house. She has a very gentle personality, and is very affectionate. Even with all that she has been through she still is excited to meet new people and greets everyone with a tail wag. She also gets along great with the other dogs and cats in the house."Kahlua is heartworm positive and will soon be receiving heartworm treatment!Check out some of my videos on our YouTube.com channel by copying the link below and copying in a new window browser!https://youtu.be/eJtxBuW6QsAhttps://youtu.be/KVq45SYo3fAhttps://youtu.be/EgpvSq20q30https://youtu.be/dt0PbKaOD7Yhttps://youtu.be/zLzjXRroITAhttps://youtu.be/po-Zja0_ymkIf you are interested in meeting Kahlua (be ready to fall in love!) then just fill out an adoption application and contact HSSET to arrange a meet and greet!!

Story
Abbie is a sweetheart that loves to cuddle. She doing very well going outside to do her business, crate/kennel time, and sit and leave it commands. She doesnt like harsh tones and thinks she is in trouble if you say Abigail. She wags her tail a lot. She is not aggressive with her food or toys. She is very curious about her surroundings. She loves looking out the window. Abbie is around 3 years young. Her vet records say PitX, but we believe her to be more on the Foxhound/Boxer mix side. Abbie is UTS on all her shots, housebroken, HW neg and microchipped. She LOVES people, but we recommend that she be an only dog. She does very well on leash walking and loves to go on walks.Abbie is a big girl around 60 lbs. If you would like to meet Abbie please let us know!!

Story
#seniorsrulepuppiesdroolI am new to HSSET. I was found as a stray in Port Arthur. The staff is still learning about me, but I seem like a sweet girl. I am scared of new people at first, but a little cheese or peanut butter will make me your best friend! I am nervous and confused at the shelter, so I would greatly benefit from a foster home. I just need somewhere to lounge around and relax in peace. I've earned it! Please check back later for more information as the staff learns about me. :)
