Story
King is a fawn Mastiff mix with an approximate birthdate of August, 2018.    He is a family-friendly dog and loves to be near his people, but because of his size, we recommend only older children.  Being very treat-driven has helped King learn several commands.  He has done well with cats and other dogs.   When in a crate,  he barks  excessively and tries to break out.  King has mild separation anxiety which he shows by whining, but he calms down after a while.  King is active and loves to go for walks, doing best with a gentle leader.  A tall fence is needed since King can clear a 4-foot fence in his effort to catch a passing critter.  King will do well with a family that has older children because he gets really excited when seeing his people and shows it by rubbing against them.  Because of his size, he could easily nudge over a tiny human.  King needs a new home only because of allergies in his family. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that a dog is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home.  This means that our exposure to the dog is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet.  If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. The suggested adoption donation for King is $350.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
