Story
Bo Bo has all the delightful characteristics of a young puppy... sloppy, wet kisses included! BoBo is a four month old 21 pound Carolina dog that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/12 as a stray. He's spunky, lively, playful, curious, friendly, outgoing, and very loving! He already knows the sit command at such a young age! Is he smart or what? He obviously wants to please. He will need some guidance teaching him to take treats more gently. He loves stuffed toys. He went into the toy box and picked out a toy. He enjoyed chewing on it. He occasionally jumps on you wanting extra loving and affection. When I sat down he came to me. He even tried to get on my lap. He was intimidated by the other dogs barking at him. If you have another dog, we ask you to request a dog test from the shelter. He does not have a strong pull on the leash but sometimes gets tangled. BoBo would be the perfect dog for a young family. He would like playtime and cuddle time. The cuddle time would be in the house with his new loving family.

Story
**HEARING IMPAIRED**Meet Kurtis! He is a 2 yr old male neutered Argentine Dog mix that weighs 74lbs He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/5 as a stray. Sweet Kurtis you can tell hasn't had the best life so far. He is underweight and appears to have lived outside as seen by scrapes and cuts on his arms. Despite his past, he is optimistic about his future. And Kurtis has a super power that makes him extra special...he is deaf. We will care for him til he finds his loving forever home. When I told him this, he had the biggest smile on his face. He may not be able to hear me say that, but by the care, affection we have shown him, he knows we will. He is a very handsome boy that walks ok on a leash, tho he pulls a bit, and takes treats gently. He walked up our stand in the yard, and raised his head up to enjoy the sunshine on his face. He doesn't appear to know any hand signals, but he would love to learn. Kurtis hopes to find his own loving family soon so he can enjoy his own secured yard to investigate and run in, but live indoors with his human companions. Tho he didn't show any interest in the other dogs in the bay, if you do have another dog in the home please be sure to ask the shelter for a dog test. If you can provide him with the special care he needs, help him learn hand signals, then he is the right pup for you!

Story
Avery has beautiful blonde coloring with hazel eyes to match. He's a four-month-old 26 pound terrier pit/Carolina dog/lab mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/29 as a stray. He's a delightful boy that anybody would be lucky to have! At first, he is a little timid, but with TLC and attention he comes around. Then he's your BFF. He's sweet, gentle, happy, and active. He absolutely loves stuffed toys and tosses them in the air and tries to entice you to play with him. Would you be willing to do that? He sits for treats and takes them gently. He's very well mannered and wants to please. He would be a good dog for a family with a children because he's so playful and yet gentle. He doesn't jump on you. He comes when he's called. He even tries to get on your lap. He walks well on a leash. He was friendly with other dogs. He's the whole package! Now close your eyes and imagine him after a walk or playing in the yard with him curling up next to you on the couch. He would make a very loving companion. And to top it off, he's so cute you would be the envy of all your friends!

Meet Xena! She is a 4 month old Carolina/Jindo, possibly some Husky mix that weighs 31 lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/9 as a stray. Xena is full puppy energy! She enjoys playing with squeaky toys and making sure she gets plenty of petting and gives you lots of kisses! She has an outgoing happy personality, definitely a zest for life! She walks great on a leash, takes treats gently and even knows the sit command at her young age. If you would like to have a puppy join your family, its important to know she would need an active family that can provide her plenty of enrichment to keep her busy and give her the energy outlet she needs. Like going for walks or running in her own secured backyard. She would need to have toys and chew toys for her to enjoy. Walking past the other dogs barking at her she did not show any interest in them. If you do have another dog in the home please be sure to ask the shelter for a dog test. Xena is a lovely sweet girl that can't wait to find her own family that will help her grow into the best young lady she can be. Come meet this wonderful girl!
