Story
Meow (short for Elizabeth Barret Meowing) is a beautiful long-haired senior looking for some loving cuddles and a quiet home purr-fect for long cat naps. She came into the BC SPCA as a stray and was sadly never claimed. She is affectionate and loves her pets. Being a senior she's pretty calm and undemanding. She has a long coat that will need to be brushed to prevent any tangles but she doens't mind a good brushing session. We don't know if Meow has lived with other animals before so proper, slow introductions would be very important. Any other animals in the home would need to be calm, easygoing and give Meow her space. She may become stressed by other animals and need to be the only pet. She also enjoys quiet time to reflect...and nap, so a home without young kids would be preferred though older respectful children may be fine. Meow is a glorious older lady with charm and can't wait to grace your home and heart with her presence. She just had a dental surgery done and is now ready to go home.A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Story
Looking for a feline friend to talk to? Bella is just the cat for you! Bella is a bit of a Chatty Cathy, she enjoys deep conversations about life and it's little mysteries. That's not the only thing she enjoys, though! Bella also loves attention, cuddles, and a warm lap to lay on. She's very sweet. Bella was declawed before coming into our care, so she needs to be an indoor cat only. Bella can't complain, she loves being inside with her family, staying comfortable and safe. Bella is used to being the only animal and would do best in a home with no other animals, she likes to be the queen of her castle. Bella can be startled by loud noises and may be a bit shy at first until comfortable. We would like to see her in a home with no young children to keep her happy. A low stress home is very important as she is currently being treated for cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) which caused inappropriate urination. A low stress environment and proper diet will be important to prevent this issue in the future. Are you Bella's second chance at a fur-ever family?A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal to help ensure success in the new home. *BELLA IS NOT QUITE READY TO GO HOME AS SHE IS HEALING FROM HER DENTAL SURGERY AND BEING TREATED FOR URINARY CYSTITIS* Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 5.6 Age: 10yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Meet Hiccup, the fine feline friend you've been looking for! He will certainly enjoy cuddling up and sharing life stories with you. Hiccup came into BC SPCA care when he was abandoned by his previous owners. He was covered in mats and small wounds plus was sick and had a large, very painful ulcer on his tongue keeping him from eating. Hiccup was diagnosed with Calicivirus, a feline upper respiratory virus that can present itself as sneezing, congestion, and you guessed it, ulcers in the mouth. Calicivirus is contagious to other cats, so since there is the possibility Hiccup may be a carrier for life he will need to be indoor only and either the only cat in the home, or with cats who have also had the virus. After a good shave, weeks of vet care, and time to recover in a foster home Hiccup is finally ready to go to his fur-ever home! Hiccup loves to be around people, will even follow his foster all around. One of his favorite pastimes is just to lay on someone's lap while watching TV. Hiccup may be anxious in new situations, so his family will need to be prepared to do slow introductions to the whole house. He also tends to get quite excited and demanding when people come to visit which may result in him being underfoot - he just wants to remind everyone that he is still there. If people try to leave, he tries to stop them by weaving in between feet and will meow at you as if he wants you to stay just five more minutes. Hiccup has also had some incidents of becoming aggressive and attacking legs when frustrated, so would need to be in a home that can give him the love, space, and play time that he needs to get out all of the energy he has. Once he is done with playtime, Hiccup is more than happy to relax and have his catnap. Hiccup would do best in a quiet, cat savvy home with no small children as he is easily startled by loud noises and fast movements. As Hiccup came into us originally as a stray, we aren't certain how he is with other animals. Proper, slow introductions to the other animals would be important. Are you ready to make a forever feline friend like Hiccup?A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.
