Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fee is $400-$800. if a biography does not otherwise say then it is $400. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescueLoki is a 14 year old kitty that we rescued from a very neglectful situation. He had a large abscess on his left cheek that was causing him a tremendous amount of pain. Who knows how long he had been suffering with it. Our vet performed surgery and repaired that issue along with doing a complete blood panel on him. Because he is an older adult cat we have gone the extra mile to insure his new owner will know he is in great health now. His blood panel came back with perfect levels and he feels and looks great! During his recovery his sweet and endearing personality started to emerge, and that's when we realized what a special cat he truly was.  He loves to climb up into your arms like a little child would. He loves to sit up on his foster Moms shoulders while she walks around the house. He is a talker and will let you know exactly how he is feeling at any given time. He is very active, playing with toys and climbing on the cat tree. But his overall temperament is 'low-key', that's how he got his name! He loves sleeping in his cat bed or on any person in the vicinity. He is a lap cat, he loves being close to his human. He has very kind eyes that are full of trust and love. He hopes someone will give him a chance as we are sure he has many years ahead of him to make someone very happy. He is a confident kitty and will acclimate to his new home and family in a day, he is that social and sweet. Loki has been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, current on vaccines, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. His adoption donation is $100.  Loki is patiently waiting for his forever home to find him. Is that you? Apply to adopt him today.

We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescueSnapple is an 8 year old handsome guy with a winning personality. He is such a character, full of life and love. He can be vocal at times, but only when he has something important to say. He likes to play but isn't over the top with energy. He has an expressive personality and enjoys being around his humans. He was an owner relinquish to our rescue group. His previous owner could no longer care for him so we agreed to take him in and find him his new forever home.  Snapple could fit into any type of home dynamic. If there is already a resident dog or cat in the house, he would do fine with either. He seems a little uncertain around small children, so kids over the age of 12 would probably be a better fit. He was just recently diagnosed with IBS, which means he will need to be on a specialty food and take medication once a day. We know this might deter some people from wanting to adopt him but it no big deal to us, he deserves a fantastic home that will give him the life he deserves. He wants nothing more than a family to call his own. If you think Snapple is your guy, get your application in today. He can't wait to meet his new family! He has been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. His adoption donation is $100.

Story
Mimi is a female domestic shorthair cat who is believed to be less than a year old. When found in an alley, this precious little girl appeared to be fending for herself; for how long is uncertain. Mimi was pregnant when rescued and has since given birth to three gorgeous little kittens this past January. The kittens have all found homes, and Mimi will be spayed soon. She is FELV/FIV negative. Mimi loves eating cat food after her life on the streets, and she learns something new each day. She is a pretty girl, enjoys being held, but will need to be the only cat in your home as she is not good with other cats. To meet Mimi to see if she is the girl for you, or to learn more about her, email Yuki at ytoben@hotmail.com

Story
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. To meet JESSIE, see contact information below. Jessie is a spayed female, 5-year-old, 10 lb., brown tabby cat who is a domestic shorthair. She was relinquished to the shelter in September 2018. Jessie is a mellow, friendly, quiet, calm girl. She can take a bit to warm up to new people, but once she is comfortable with you, she will let you pet her, especially on her chin. She will rub her chin on your hand to let you know she likes being stroked there and purr nonstop. She enjoys being brushed and loves people. Treats are a favorite, too! Jessie is litterbox trained, gets along well with adults and other cats and needs to be an indoor cat. She will be a delightful companion for a lucky adopter. To meet Jessie, come to the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services, 5821 Sweetwater Rd., Bonita 91902. Open Tuesdays - Sundays, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Closed Mondays and holidays. Jessie’s shelter I.D. is A1851713.

We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescueOur Bartok is a handsome longhaired young man that was in dire need of rescuing. He was found with dozens of abscesses on his body. Our vet said he had been attacked by something, what we don't know, but it was clear he was suffering. After he was shaved down and the wounds were tended too, he started to feel so much better and was so grateful for the help he was given.  Our vet says he is about 2 years old. He is quite fluffy, sweet and follows his foster mom around everywhere. He is being fostered in a busy household. He thrives in that type of home. He likes a lot of stimulation whether it be from his humans, dogs or other cats. He likes to be right in the middle of all the action and that's the type of forever home we would like to place him in. Many cats need a quieter environment, not Bartok, he likes an active home, that's where he will shine. Everyone loves him and we hope his potential forever home sees this profile and applies to adopt him today! He's a great kitty that deserves a happy life. Bartok has been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. His adoption donation is $100.

Story
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. To meet TUX, see the contact information below. Tux is a neutered male black & white Tuxedo cat who is 5 ½ years old. Tux is the King of Hearts, a beautiful big boy who will cuddle with you and who loves to be loved! He is a bit shy at first, but will quickly warm up to a good, loving person. Tux is microchipped and all of his vaccinations are up to date. Because he hasn’t had much experience with small children or dogs it would be best if he could have a forever home with a single person or couple that is on the quiet side and be an indoor cat. If you have another cat, Tux would enjoy the companionship. To meet Tux, contact Deb by emailing nelsclng@aol.com or calling 619.507.0562. Tux is being fostered in the Boulevard area of San Diego County.
