Story
Penny is a beautiful short haired kitten with a special coloring.  She is a very sweet kitten who tends to be shy at first meeting  but once you spend time with her and she starts to warm up to you she becomes very warm and affectionate.  She lives with her Mom at her foster home where she was born and loves to play with the other kitties and doesn't mind the cat friendly dogs too much either.  She is still a little shy around children so they should be older and gentle children.   Penny is looking for a home that would give her the time to bond with them and show what a sweet loving kitten she really is. She has never been outside and would like a home that is looking for a sweet indoor only kitty like herself. Penny is undated on all her medical and is microchipped.  She is litterbox trained and uses a scratching post.   If you are interested in meeting Penny or would like more information please contact her foster Mom at  lvscats2002@yhoo.com or call 669-228-4440 for more information. Story
Victoria (The Royals, Queen Mum) Victoria is the Queen Mum of The Royal Litter (Albert, Helena, and Leopold) and was a teen-age mommy.   We think she came into heat very young and had her litter when she was no more than 8 or 9 months old.  She was really just a baby herself, but sadly having babies of her own. Victoria gave birth to her kittens outside in the bushes between two homes in Gilroy, CA and later moved them under an old, tarped Mustang in the driveway of a nearby home.  So often, such very young mom-cats just don’t know what to do with their newborns and refuse to nurse them, or even abandon or kill them.  But sweet Victoria took wonderful care of her kittens.  The homeowner that was feeding them appealed for help with this mom and kittens, and FOSMAS stepped in to rescue them.  Victoria was friendly enough that she didn’t need to be trapped.  She came right out for food and some petting.  Her babies held out, though, but were eventually lured into the trap with some tasty canned food and all were trapped over the course of several days.  The kittens were only about two months old then. This Queen Mum obviously had a home at one point, because she is such a friendly, loving little lap-cat.  But they didn’t love her enough, because they didn’t spay her or keep her indoors.  You can see what a little lover she is in the video.  She demands love and attention, and comes running whenever she sees her foster mom or spots a lap.  She is a purr factory, very talkative, and her meow is absolutely hilarious! Unfortunately, Victoria has also tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus).  Whether she was already FIV+ and her previous owners were irresponsible and let her out anyway, or whether she got it when she went into heat and was out mating, she will now need to be an indoor-only cat forever, and should be an only cat or placed with other FIV+ cats.  Alternatively, if your cat has already been vaccinated for FIV you may want to discuss adopting an FIV+ kitty with your veterinarian.  FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds.  It cannot be transmitted to humans, dogs, or other non-feline pets.  FIV is not a death sentence, and cats with FIV can live a long life.  Please see this link at Best Friends for some very good info on FIV:   http://bestfriends.org/resources/faqs-about-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv If you would like to give sweet Victoria the loving home that she deserves or if you have any questions, please contact adopt@fosmas.org  or 408-228-4440 or her foster mom,  kathodgdon@hotmail.com .

Story
Fauvi's name should really be Routisserie! He loves attention soooo much that he rolls and rolls and rolls just so you touch every square inch of his body, especially his belly, believe it or not. Fauvi loves to sit on laps, lay in your arms, and he's also a champion headbutt-er, so be prepared for a gentle shove when he's ready for lovin'. He's a very gentle soul and a great companion that gets along well with other kitties and their humans. His purrbox is non-stop, so he'll gently lull you to sleep after a hard day at work. Adopting a young adult is a 10-20 year commitment, is beneficial because they readily adapt to their new home, their personalities are already developed, and they'll provide many years of love, devotion, entertainment, and companionship. Fauvi's ideal humans are those who crave the fun, energy, joy, and inquisitiveness of a young adult, and will happily include him in their daily activities. He'll do best in a quiet home (no small children) with another pet (hopefully his brother Jett because they're very good buddies, or a fostermate) and older children to keep him company. With a loving family, he'll be a wonderful and constant companion for many years. Born in July 2013, Fauvi is a taupe/tawny brown tabby DSH male (fauve is French for taupe, by the way), is neutered, fully vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies), tested negative for FeLV, dewormed, deflead, and microchipped for identification. He uses the litterbox and scratching post, and must be indoors-only. Please contact Fauvi's foster mom at ageddes@charter.net or call   (408) 427-2949 (voicemail) for more information about adoption; messages returned within 24 hours.

Story
Ahhhh, the luck o' the Irish ... A red-haired beauty with a charming personality, Mahoney is a rare jewel in catdom. Like a four-leaf clover, female orange tabbies aren't too common, so when you find one, luck is on your side. Mahoney is a sweet purrbox of a kitty that gets along well with her fostermates, both during playtime and downtime. You'll often find her playing a quick game of chase throughout the house, or cuddled-up with a buddy for an afternoon nap. Adopting a kitten is a 10-20 year commitment, is beneficial because they readily adapt to their new home, and will provide many years of love, devotion, entertainment, and companionship. Mahoney's ideal humans are those who crave the fun, energy, joy, and inquisitiveness of a kitten, and will happily include her in their daily activities. She'll do best in an active home with another pet (hopefully one of her siblings Dazzle, Sparkle, and Stubbs McGee) and older children to keep her company. With a loving family, she'll be a wonderful and constant companion for many years. Born in March 2013, Mahoney is an orange tabby DSH female, is spayed, fully vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies), tested negative for FeLV, dewormed, deflead, and microchipped for identification. She uses the litterbox and scratching post, and must be indoors-only. Please contact Mahoney's foster mom at ageddes@charter.net or call   (408) 427-2949 (voicemail) for more information about adoption; messages returned within 24 hours.
