Hi, my name is Messi and I am 6 1/2 years old. My dad has had me since I was a crazy little kitten, and he unfortunately cannot take me with him to college next semester so he’s counting on my next fur parents to adopt and take care of me. I asked my owner, and he said if he had to characterize me, he would say I am a shy sweetheart. Once I get comfortable around you, you and I will become bets friends, I just know it, and I am never wrong! I love everyone, my current family has a large german shepherd that I just get along great with (he’s also my best friend). A kitty showed up one day asking for food. The kind couple fed her. She kept coming back until, one day, she disappeared. A week later she came back, hungry and "with child." The couple let her into their home and during the summer heat she rested with her round belly directly under the swamp cooler. Her kittens were finally born, all 8 of them. At 6 weeks, the couple started giving them away. They didn't know that you had to wait until 8 weeks to find them a home and were severely chastized on Facebook.They found homes for 4 kittens, but there are 4 more needing homes that I want to help. Then, the couple had to move. They took the last 4 kittens with them, but somehow the mama kitty got left behind. Soon after, there was a plea on a local Facebook group for a mama kitty to nurse an orphaned kitten that had lost its mother to dogs. The couple responded with the last known address of mama. Mama was located and rescued. She was very frightened. She was taken to the orphaned kitten but to no avail. She was done with kittens. It turns out that she also hates dogs. She wouldn't tolerate a tiny Chihuahua and screamed like a banshee at its sight. So, she ended up in my care. Her name is now Rita. She is a pretty little thing, slender with soft and shiny fur. She likes other cats but objects, loudly, to rough play. She is vaccinated and will be spayed as soon as possible, which in this area, is September. Her kittens as of August 17 are 7 weeks old but we are already accepting applications. Rita has the same coat as her kitten Louisa. If you wish to contact me, please email me.
