Story
Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana. Thank you for considering adoption!  Petunia ,  Female 40lbs.  1 yr old  Our girl has a big fan base on our facebook. Many people have watched her go from deaths door to the beauty she is today!   History   :        We rescued Petunia from a local shelter that euthanizes for space. She was extremely emaciated and had been attacked by another dog. She has a healing fracture from a dog biting her so hard it crushed the bone in her back left leg. She had open wounds and also had hookworms and coccidia. We feared she wouldn't live. She also got kennel cough on top of that and her leg wound would seep and drain. We had to tote her frail body around and help her to move because she was so skinny and weak.  My daughter spent a lot of time cuddling by her and she slept between us at night constantly monitored.  This little girl pulled through with lots of love, medication, and vet care. There was a time my wish for her was to see her run. She was so weak that running was a far away dream at that time.  Now my wish is to see this happy girl find her perfect home. She finally is healthy and able to enjoy life.   Breed:  We selected breeds on the adoption site that Petunia resembles BUT we did a DNA test to aid in her finding a home. Petunia's DNA test gave us 3 distinct breeds, plus a mix of some groups. The test goes back to her great great grandparents so that's why some of the breed groups aren't exact. Her 3 distinct breeds were Staffordshire Terrier, Chow Chow, and Miniature American Shepherd (like a Mini Australian Shepherd/ Mini Aussie.)  About Petunia:    Main personality: Sweet and playful. Petunia loves to play with her dog friends. She likes to taunt them with toys then play keep away too. She does make the oh so great growl noise when she's playing, some dogs are okay with that and some arent. She gets the zoomies. Petunia loves toys and nylabones. She enjoys running out in the fenced yard then relaxing on the couch. Allowed free roam of home when nobody is there.   At night she sleeps in the bed with her foster parents. She likes to lay on top of the covers and right along your leg so that she's touching you. Sometimes she will prop her head on you while she sleeps. She's a great snuggler! She does have energy as she is a puppy. Sometimes she will fling her head around and you better watch out if you're cuddled with her or youll get bopped in the face, haha. Due to that we'd prefer no younger children because we don't want her excitement to knock them down.  Petunia is child friendly. Her foster home has a 6 year old. We would prefer a home with no smaller children though as she can be a bit rough when she gets excited. She  does great at events. She actually likes to lay down right in the middle of everything. Does great on harness, a little nervous in some scenarios so you'd have to be able to pick her up if a scenario happens (ex leaving petsmart going through the doors then into the road she gets nervous so we carry her).  Petunia is cat friendly.  She enjoys playing with her foster kitten friend.  Potty training has been going great. She will have to adapt to your schedule though. I personally feel Petunia would best love to have a dog friend to hang out with.  Overall, Petunia can be hyper and very playful during the day, then snuggly and cuddly sleeping at night. She does have to be watched as she is a puppy, sometimes she will try to chew/swallow things so you have to keep a close eye on her. She needs to stay supervised.  She is a good girl when left home alone too though so she gets free roam. Kennels are a no for her. Not to be left outside unsupervised for her safety. Again, puppy tendencies but also a good girl. She's very loving and playful.       Vetting:                 Petunia is up to date on yearly vaccinations and rabies vaccine. Spayed. She had a negative heartworm test and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Fecal exam. On monthly flea/tick prevention. Microchipped via PetLink (lifetime registration covered in adoption donation) lots of vet visits and x-rays.  As far as her leg goes:   Her x-rays were looking good. Leg is fine, sometimes she may limp a bit if she over does it playing like a hoodlum.  Requirements:    Indoor home. Fenced yard but not to be left out unsupervised. Prepared for a playful puppy and continuing training. Sleep in bed. No kennel when home alone, she doesn't like them and she is good free roaming. Watchful eye supervision, puppy. Vet history required. Okay with her playful growling noises.  Petunia has quite the fan base online from people that have followed her story. We would love her to find a family that keeps in touch and gives updates. We have tons of pictures of our sweet girl.  Any questions let us know. About Applying to Adopt:     This pup has a $100 adoption donation fee (lifetime microchip fee is included) This fee generally NEVER covers how much we actually spend on the animal. We are a 501c3 non profit so the fee goes back into our volunteer rescue to help us save more lives. We function solely on donations. Go to https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption to apply for adoption. Try to include as much about yourself as possible. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

My brother and I were adopted together but I was returned 10 months later because I got mange and my owner didn't want me anymore. I am a Catahoula mix and I do well with other female dogs. I really love to go for walks up the road. Stop by and take me for a walk and see if you and I would make a great team. Est. Story
Hi there, everyone! My name is Layla, and I'm a three year old female Catahoula Leopard dog! I'm very friendly and sweet-natured and I would love to find my forever home. The shelter was a little scare to me at first, but now I'm use to it and I'm not afraid anymore. Also, can I just mention how beautiful my eyes are?! They are blue, which is typical of a Catahoula Leopard dog like me! I've already been spayed, micro-chipped, and vaccinated, but I do have heartworms, and that just means that you would need to agree to treat me before I am released to you. It's really not a big deal, and you can ask any of the shelter staff how to help me! Please open your heart and your home to a heartworm positive dog, and I promise, you will not regret it!

Story
I wish I could keep this dude, but unfortunately I cant. I'm having to move to an apartment and honestly, even if they let me keep him, I dont think he'd do well not having a yard to run around in, he loves to run and play. He loves kids, is very good with other dogs, and loves to be around people. He's still working on going potty outside, he loves to drink water, and like a kid, gets in the moment and has to go pee. I dont want to take him to a shelter, I really want him to get a good home. Take a look at his pictures and let me know. Help me get him to a good home. Thank you!

Story
Meet my son Jackson, He’s a 4 year old Catahoula-BoxerPitt, weighs about 80 lbs and is the sweetest sack of love you’ll ever meet. He’s been my only friend when I had none. He’s house broken, very receptive to training, patient, smart and good with other dogs. He knows lots of tricks including basic commands. He’s the funniest, goofiest dog I’ve met and makes great company. Jaxx is a very emotionally in-tune dog, who has been beside me at some of the toughest times of my life. He’s very in-tune with the ones he loves. He was one of first to know I’m pregnant and he has even alerted me to cardiac problems. He likes long walks, fluffy toys, balls, eating fruit like melons and apples, car rides, running in open fields &foot rubs. He’s an all around perfect pup...except one thing. He’s aggressive, he recently bit someone close to me, being his second bite I’m having to rehome him to someone who can positively train him and show themselves as dominant to help him control his temperament.
