Story
Hello! I want to introduce myself…my name is Bentley Carter. I am a male poodle, around 4 years old. I had a rough start in life, as I came from a backyard breeder, and I have some anxiety due to my past. I have learned to trust my humans, but it does take me a little while to adjust. For now, I seem to prefer female humans as bigger male humans scare me…probably due to something in my past. Once I know you and trust you, I am a snuggler and love to be held and sleep in bed with my person. I LOVE other dogs, so I need to have another dog in my new home. I do like to be close with my doggy friends, so I need to be able to snuggle with my new friend for comfort. A fenced backyard would be best for me, as I am not good on a leash. I might learn with some training, but in order to keep working on potty training, I will need a fenced yard. Due to some of my anxiety issues, I do have a few accidents, but my foster mommy puts a belly band on me, male wrap, so that if I do have an accident, it does not mess anything up. I still need some work, but I am learning as I go. I would prefer a quiet household probably without any young children, so my anxiety stays to a minimum. I would also prefer to have someone home more often that not. I only weigh around 11 pounds, so I am a petite guy. I really need someone with lots of patience to give me my own space and get comfortable with my doggy friends and then I will learn to trust. All I know for sure is that I am adorable and want to find my forever home, so I will always have someone to be with!
