***Puppy Pals Rescue will not be participating in public Meet and Greets or other public activities until further notice. We are following the HSUS and the Dayton Humane Society guidelines until the COVID-19 virus crisis passes.*** Solo is a male Chihuahua Mix that is 8 years old and weighs 6.5 lbs. He was surrendered to Puppy Pals Rescue by his owner, along with Marley. Marley and Solo are a bonded pair and will be adopted out to a loving home together. Solo is almost housebroken - he's about 90% there - fortunately, he doesn't mind wearing a belly band indoors. He loves to snuggle and lay in a lap. When he's not in your lap, he likes soft snuggly beds and blankets. He will bark at noises. He doesn't seem to know how to play. He gets along with other dogs and likes kids. Puppy Pals Rescue will only consider local potential adopters for Marley and Solo (live in the Dayton/Cincinnati/Columbus area). If you would like to meet Marley and Solo, they will be at a couple Meet & Greet events in February. On Saturday, February 8, they will be at the Petco at 300 E Stroop Rd in Kettering from noon to 2pm. On Saturday, February 15, they will be at the PetValu at 3201 Dayton-Xenia Rd in Beavercreek from 1pm to 3pm. If you have any questions regarding Marley and Solo, please email their foster mom at alicia.heidorn@gmail.com. If you would like to be considered to adopt them, please submit an Adoption Application Form through our website; www.PuppyPalsRescue.com. Thanks!

Story
***Puppy Pals Rescue will not be participating in public Meet and Greets or other public activities until further notice. We are following the HSUS and the Dayton Humane Society guidelines until the COVID-19 virus crisis passes.*** FEE is for both Abby and Sammy - bonded pair Abby and Sammy are a bonded pair of seven-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua mixes. They came to PPR in January very frightened after being surrendered by their owner. They have had four owners, through no fault of their own, so they have learned that retreating into their shells is the best option. But they have made progress since they've been with their PPR foster – they will probably always be timid, but they love food, scratches and to go out into the fenced yard, which really gets them moving and happy. Abby is the more outgoing of the two and a bit goofy - she is VERY food motivated. She has gotten used to spending time with her foster dog brothers and Mom on the couch watching TV in the evenings, and she loves to be stroked and scratched. Abby has a permanently luxated patella in her rear-left leg. This means her kneecap has slipped and causes her to walk with a slight limp. She moves around fine and she can handle small steps. She is on a daily arthritis supplement. Our vet did say it’s possible that an operation could help her leg. Abby also gets scratchy skin – it’s helped to not feed her typical proteins like chicken or beef. She’s eating sweet potato and duck right now and it helps a lot. Sammy is very shy and probably always will be – it takes him a while to get used to things, he freezes up when he gets nervous. However, he gets very excited to see his foster Mom, enjoys scratches and LOVES going outside in the fenced yard – he really comes to life! Also, he gets down with his "Sammy dance" when there's food around – see the video! All that being said, they are actually really low maintenance – they’re not high energy and they are obedient and quiet. Both are good around cats and other friendly dogs. They could be crated just fine, but they are so quiet and often very still that a crate hasn’t been needed. They willingly use potty pads if they can’t get outside (or won’t go outside when it’s cold!!). They will potty outside if kept on a schedule. Neither does well on a leash – they are too nervous and freeze up. We are looking for a person or family (older teen kids only) that has experience with small and timid dogs. A fenced in yard is a must – not because they have a lot of energy, but because it makes them very happy and more relaxed to roam around the yard. These two need a home that won't rush them into new experiences and will appreciate them for who they are – someone who just “gets” them. Abby and Sammy are two very, very sweet dogs who deserve, finally, a permanent and loving home. If you have questions about these pups, please contact the foster home at the link below. If you think these are the pups for you, please go to PPR's Applications Page and apply! Please email the foster home at the link below to let them know you have applied, as sometimes forms seem to get lost in cyberspace. PPR pups are featured at Petco in Centerville at the Cross Pointe Center one Saturday each month from Noon – 3:00. Check PPR's Events Page for dates and contact the foster home at the link below to see if these pups will be attending! (Please note that we do not do on-site adoptions. There is an application process which includes references and a home visit.) Would you like to meet these pups? If an application is completed (no obligations) – we could arrange a meet and greet if you are local to the pups' foster home. Abby and Sammy are being fostered in Dayton by Heidi. Story
Cheerio! Inspector Tinkey here at your service. You might be asking why, the name Inspector Tinkey, well that’s an easy clue to explain. I enjoy sniffing around and inspecting, well I call it solving the mysteries in my foster home. I’m always on the case of the cat burglar here and bark when I find a clue that it’s near. It seems there’s always a case to solve either inside or out and I’m the happy, fun loving gentleman to help. My highly trained nose, exceptional hearing and quick witted mind is always ready to solve the mystery. (That is unless I’m taking my morning, afternoon or evening nap). You do like mysteries no? I love curling up with my foster mom on the couch and listen to a good mystery. I would watch, but my eyesight really isn’t very good. I get daily eye meds to help my dry eyes. Being an older fellow I try to mind my manners and wear a belly band in the house. As a civil servant I’m an easy going, nice 12yr old, 10 lb chap that adapts to new surroundings, gets along with humans and canines, but not felines. Have a mystery to solve or want some company to watch it with – I’m your fellow! Tinker is crate trained, goes potty outside, will use puppy pads (on the wall) if needed. Very good about wearing a belly band. Doesn’t really play with toys, gets along with other dogs and plays in his own way with them (growling & acting tough). His idea of playing with a human is play biting with his 5-7 teeth. He’s friendly to all adults, don’t know about children. If Tinker sounds like the new best friend you’ve been looking for, please complete an application. Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ Tinker is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heart worm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours? **Tinker is currently being fostered in Milwaukee, WI** If you would like more information about adopting this dog, please go to our website (http://www.chihuahua-rescue.org). All dogs listed are adoptable in 4 Midwestern states (OH / IL / MI / WI). We do transport! They are spread out throughout the Midwest in foster homes. Story
My Name is Peanute! I am a sweet, little girl, am about 10 years old and weigh just under 8 pounds. If you are wondering why my name is spelled with a E, it is because there is another of my fellow fosters named Peanut. This is easier for you to tell us apart. I warm up to strangers pretty easy and I am good with other small dogs. I don’t know if I would get along with cats, because my foster home does not have any. I am trying to learn to use a pee pad, but sometimes forget. I do much better on a schedule in my foster home. I have had a neglectful past and due to this I have lost all my teeth, but that doesn’t stop me from eating my small kibble that I love, and a soft treat like a blueberry or a piece of cheese. I went for a check up and the Vet said I have a stage 4 heart murmur and I need to be on medication for it. I like short walks and I shouldn’t have too much excitement, so rough play is out. My foster Mom and Dad carry me up or down the stairs so it doesn’t cause me any problems. I love to be spoiled :) I don’t like being alone, so if you are home most of the time, I would love to be part of your family. I am quiet when you are next to me, or where I can see you. I even sleep in my crate next to my foster mom and dad at night. I wake up early, usually 6:30 or 7 because I need to go outside to go potty. I usually cry if my foster dad goes outside, even if my foster mom is around. I like her but I like my foster dad better. I don’t know why, maybe my former owner was a man, but couldn’t keep me. Thank you for reading my Bio. Story
Hello, I'm Betty, a friendly and energetic young girl looking for her forever family. I am a 1 1/2 year old chihuahua mix and I weight 15 pounds. I have been spayed, have all my vaccines, am microchipped and take my heartworm preventative monthly. My foster Mom wants you to know I get along great with the other dogs in my foster home. After play time I love to snuggle up with her people to rest up for her next romping adventure. I would love to have a home with a fenced in yard to run and play fetch I am still in my her puppy stage of life and will need some patience as I leatrn to become more confident on a leash and in the big outdoors I am doing very well with my potty training and will continue to do well as long as you keep me on a schedule. . I love my Foster family but really want a family of my own to love and cuddle with. Maybe you are wanting the same thing too. If so, please read the instrutions below on how to adopt me. I will pack my toys and be ready in a moments notice if you want a young, loving sweet little girl who is enthusiastic about life. Betty is being fostered in Florence, KY and her adoption donation fee is $250.00. A lot of love for a small fee.
